Hey, my marching band is taking a trip to disney the week after christmas from 12/27 to 1/2, of this year. :sad2: We will have a lot of fun but i know it will be VERY CROWDED and i was wondering if anyone has gone during that time in the past and if they could give me any hints or tips so i could make the best of this trip. Well be staying at the carribbean beach resort. One of the days we are going to be in Universal Studios but all the others are open for Walt Disney World except for the two days for traveling. (12/27 & 1/2) If anyone could help id appreciate it. thank you.

Gosh, nobody has answered you yet? Well, I do have something to say, since I've been there during similar dates other years. During the day, concentrate on seeing the parades and shows more than the rides, if you like those at all. During that Christmas to New Year's week, from about 9 am til 9pm, you'll end up being able to do like 3 or 4 rides per day, lol, either with fastpass or waiting in the lines (cause the fastpasses will be good for 6-9 hours later, and can get another fastpass in 2 hours, lol). So your times for concentrating on the rides are either during the very first hour after you can get into the turnstyles (hopefully with the extra hour early if you're staying in a Disney resort), like from 8am to 9am or even 7am to 8am if you can get in that early. Or else wait until very late at night after the second night parade, like after 11pm. From 11pm to 1am, you'll be able to get the same number of attractions visited that you can during 9am to 9pm, lol. As far as eating, I would eat something in the room for breakfast so that you don't have to wait an hour for a counter service breakfast inside the park, and also maybe go back to the resort or visit some other resort for dinner so you aren't waiting in the huge lines for that either. Since you're probably going to be with a bunch of people, you may not have much choice about some of these things, but maybe make suggestions to the group, hehe.

yea we will be staying at a disney resort so we will be able to take advantage of the extra hours in the parks. thanks for your tips. ill try to find out more on what we are allowed to do and our boundaries because you cant expect our staff to have no rules with a vaction trip with 100 kids to disney. lol :rotfl: Question. I heard a rumor that disney is limited to vactioners who are staying at a disney resort. is that true? b/c if it is then the extra hours in the parks might not really help. thanx

Does anyone else have any tips?? i could really use some good tips from fellow disboarders to make the best of my trip. Thanks a lot.

I haven't been in a while, and not around the times you are going. But, I paid for the itineraries (under $7 for a year subscription - worth it for me because I can use it for more than one trip). You put in the date you'll be there, and pick a park and it gives tips based on historical crowd data for your specific date - tells you what attractions to hit first, where and when to get the fast passes, etc. Of course, no one can predict crowds and lines on any given day, but it uses historical data and information about EMH hours/etc to help determine the best way to minimize lines on the day you'll be there.

I haven't "tested" it yet but from what I've done on the site, it seemed worth it.

This is the website of the "Unofficial Guide" book.

hey thans a lot. do u have a link to the website or the webaddress where i can find this?
