Help Needed for Candlelight Change

I am currently holding dinner reservations for 4 at LeCeller as part of a Candleight Processional Dinner Package. I just learned that the other couple won't be making the trip with us. When I phoned Disney to change the reservation to 2 people, I was advised I would have to cancel the reservation and make a new one. Of course, nothing was availabe for 2 at Le Cellier that evening. So I hesitate to cancel. This year we are not paying in advance, as in years past. But they still mention a 48 hour cancellation policy.
What will happen if we just arrive at Le Cellier that evening and tell them 2 of our party was unable to make it? Will we be charged for 4 dinners?
I know they will fill the extra two seats very quickly.
Any advise is welcome.

Want company? DFiance and I have been trying to book LeCellier for weeks but no go. I'm not sure of the answer in regards to the cancellation policy but I hope it works out for you.

Maybe you could find someone else to go with you. I don't think they'll charge you though.

I wouldn't cancel if I were you. You will not get a table for 2 on that day. Reservations for this restaurant are like gold dust. Either get someone to go with you or just turn up on the day and explain that there are only 2 of you now.

Some lucky person will get a table for 2 when checking if there are any free tables for that night.

When we went to Le Cellier they told us we had to have our whole part at check in. I don't know if that has any effect on changing the number in the party.
