Hi there.......

I would like to get/do autograph books for my kids (we leave in 6 days headed to FL!!!). Can someone suggest them to me or what you've done in the past???

THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!!!

:cheer2: 6 days and counting...

The ones at Disneyworld are cute and fairly cheap if you want to wait. I think the small mickey one's are $6 however I would try to find a large pen. The pens the sell at Disneyworld never seem to work for very long.

Well, if you want to buy one, it easy and they are cute, but if you want to make one they are a little more personalized. Here is an example of the two I made for our girls:

I like it because the character is able personalize the autograph, like so:

They were easy to make and around the same price. I went to AC Moore bought the mini-photo album. It was $8, but I used the weekly 40% off coupon, which brought it down to $4.80. Then I bought a pack of alphabet stickers for around $1 and a pack of character stickers for around $2-3. I also tied sharpie to the string so they did not lose the pen.

It is up to you, I really enjoyed making it. It was just part of the planning experience.

When I got home. I photo copied the autographs and put them inside the photo album.

Have a great trip.

I made ours more like a scrapbook. I used spiral bound index cards and the kids had each character sign a new card. Then when we came home I took the character's autograph and mounted it in a 7x7 scrapbook along with pictures of the kids with the characters. It was a great keepsake and just the right size for DD to take with her to show at school.

If you plan to combine pictures on one side and the autograph on the other, I wouldn't buy the WDW autograph book. They are very cute and good quality, but a 4x6 picture WILL NOT fit in the plastic sleeve!!! We are either going to have to trim our pictures, or paste them on top of the sleeve--either way, not what I had planned. Next time I will try to make DD a cool personalized book!!

after 4 trips to WDW, I decided that we didnt need yet another book. I bought plain white pillow cases and assorted fabric pens and 2 small clipboards(for stability of the cases) for the characters to autograph. We got tons of comments on them especially from the voice characters. And, we use them everyday and they are not collecting dust somewhere!
Have a great trip!

I also used spiral bound index cards. A book of different colored ones was under $2 at WalMart. I'm not a scrapbooker, but I bought a 2006 Disney photo album and put the pic with the character in the upper slot and the card with the autograph under it. My kids absolutely LOVE the album!

Another good thing about the multi-colored cards was that DD6 spent most of her time waiting in line for a character choosing the "perfect" color for that character to sign (Orange for Tigger, pink for princess, etc.) It was hilarious how seriously she took that task. DS3 didn't care about that but he did love having his own book.

I found 2 blank notebooks with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto on the front. I bought one for each of my children. Found them at the Dollar Tree for $1.
We will use these as our autograph books and when we get back, if we make a photo album then each page tears out nicely. :thumbsup2

We've bought the small autograph books from Disney in the past but for this trip next week my hubby found a small spiral notebook with Mickey on the front at our Target store in the $1 spot, that we are planning on being our son's (age 4) autograph book for this trip.

Before we had our son, we traveled with another family with 2 boys and bought them plain baseball hats from the craft store and a couple of Sharpie markers -the characters signed their hats, and they got comments whereever they went on the cute idea - something they could take home and use for long time afterwards. We'll eventually do that one with our son too, I think.

My kids also made their own. I bought blank books from Hobby Lobby. Then I bought a bunch of Disney scrapbook stickers. The best part of our autograph books was that I waited to have the kids do them until we got to Disney. We came in early enough on Friday, we ate dinner at the resort then unpacked and swam and then I gave the kids the autograph book and supplies as a gift. They worked on them for TWO HOURS! My husband and I just got comfy and relaxed. My son who is 9 even used the back of his as a journal writing what he did everyday. It's really cool. Good luck and have fun!

PrincessGeorgie, have you washed your pillowcases? If you did and they didn't smear, what markers did you use specifically? I'm willing to do another t-shirt if I can find truly permanent markers. Thanks! (Sorry to hijack the thread :goodvibes .)

These are very nice and even nicer that you shared - thanks!
Oh, BTW, I'm assuming you're SO nice, that post applied to even little old lazy me! :lmao:
(took me like forever to find graphics for that autograph book 6 yrs ago!)

We bought the ones at the parks. The problem with these (which I personally wouldn't recommend) is that with two kids we had a hard time telling them apart. We didn't have a sharpie marker with us, so each time we took the books out we had to open them to see which was which. I know it seems like a little thing, but when you have those books out 10 or more times a day, it becomes annoying.

Just my $.02 :)

Hi there,
I got for 3.50 at the local Kroger Grocery store in the school supply aisle,
Mead "Sketch Pads". They have a spiral binding and 70+ perforated blank pages that are 9x6". I did get colored foam sheets from Wal-Mart with the sticky on the back to cover the front (but this is not neccessary if you are short on time and can do it when you return)
It also has a Pocket folder in the front too.
I am attaching with a piece of string a sharpie (large retractable kind) to the spiral
All for under $5.00 each.

Have a great trip!
