Help needed....10 day rental car?

I've looked everywhere for a good rental car deal without success.
We arrive in MCO Oct 4 and fly out Oct 14, I can get decent rates for 7 days but when you go the 10 days it is almost double.

I was thinking (and already have a car on hold) to pickup at MCO Oct 4, next day drop off at Car Care Centre in WDW & Pick up Oct 12 at CCC in WDW and MCO drop off Oct14.

It still is cheaper than Mears, and the first night & last 2 days we are staying off site anyways.
But if I could save the hassle of pick up & drop offs and have the car for the week without blowing the budget. That would be great .
Any opinions or advice would be much appreciated.
Wendy

Hi,

I ran your dates thru National and came up with the following numbers ( all prices include tax and fees......additional coverages will affect the $$$)

October 4 - October 14 ~ 9am pick-up / drop-off ~ intermediate car

$300.00 using WWEB code only
$284 using WWEB and Vacation Outlet Online Coupon ($15 off weekly)
$ 229.97 using Disney Club contract ID, WWEB code and Vacation coupon (you MUST have a current D.C. membership !! )
$ 256.53 using Carlson Travel contract ID, Vacation coupon and WWEB code.

I'm not sure what size car you were looking for, so I just chose the median size. Hope this helps.

It is a midsize, for 256.?? with taxes and fees. I had a reservation booked months ago, but it was about 30. more. This new ressie was booked a few days ago, with the old DC discount and the 20. DC coupon. I am going to keep trying codes and rates until we leave, to see if this goes any lower. This was a better deal than alamo, avis, etc, for the month of Oct.

I used the same Carlson ID, WWEB code and I added one from my entertainment book #10008165 for a total for 10 days for $224.00. Don't know if you need the actual entertainment coupon or just the code.

You will need the coupon.

What is the WWEB code? I also am trying to get a better rate on a rental car.

It is one of National's codes. for me, it always comes out higher when I use that code. Try it with and without the code. sometimes the code overrides the rate you would have received with just the contract code and coupon. I also have found, for me, that the Carlson code bumps the rate WAY up.

I have an Intermediate car rental from National for two weeks for $325.07 total. (That price includes taxes and surcharges.) Is that good or should I be searching for something better?

When we went to WDW in May, I got the same car at National $100 cheaper.

Any advice? Thank you!

I jusst booked a midsize with Budget (must have an airport location or I will not use) for 10 days for a total of 267. with all taxes and fees and no codes. I used southwest website. Hope this helps!

Another option worth considering is Priceline.

I have bid on rentals several times with them in the past. I usually get a full-size, SUV or Mini-Van thru Hertz (they only use the big names) for $15-20 per day. That might help with the length part of your trip where the rental charges seem to be much higher.

If you are interested, check out Biddingfortravel.com to see what the going rates are in the areas you want to rent a car from.

Good luck!

:)

Well the WWEB code saved me an additional $12 - I'll take it :D

Glad to hear that, that is why I said to try it with and without. :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone for all the codes & suggestions!
I think I'll try priceline again. I went in with a really low bid $13.p/d for a midsize, but my 72 hours is up so I'll try again. If I can't get that way, I'll let my finger do the typing ( codes that is). Thanks again everyone!

How did Priceline work today for you???

Hope you got a good deal.

For rental cars the wait period is 7 days. I've been bidding for a compact upto $21 per day and been rejected so far. My dates are 11/28 - 12/7 (9 days). You may be able to get something around $20 per day but I think you need to be pretty close to your trip date to get a good low price.

I'm going to try some of the codes posted here. I am having trouble, too because my 2 extra days are outrageous.

Thanks everyone
