Help! Need tips for Club Level AKL DVC.

I am so excited! My husband was able to get our first night at WDW in a Concierge Room at AKL. We are on the waiting list for a few more nights. Does anyone have any tips? I know it is only 1 night, but I want to make the most of it. We aren't planning much except hanging out at the resort....eating...drinking..
I have read about emailing them and they can get you ADR. Is that true? The info has been overwhelming.

What size villa did you get? The views from the sixth floor aren't that great, so enjoy the lounge. There is a chance you could get a handicapped accessible villa. And all of them are lockoffs.

The first time we stayed AKV concierge we saw few animals on the savanna. The other two times we saw so many! Pool view rooms are fine, too.

Personally, I am not a tub person, so the HA room would not be a problem. As far as ADRs it depends on when you are going. I have not been terribly impressed with concierge being able to get difficult ADRs, so just handle that myself. The lounge is great, with a good selection of less typical offerings. It is wonderful just to step out of your room and grab breakfast or a soft drink ore evening, sample some interesting appetizer, dessert item or maybe a glass of wine (or something stronger!)

The resort is wonderful and staying club level just makes it even better.

We don't have too many hard to get requests, so I will just do them myself. Thank you for letting me know.
We have a Savannah view on a "regular" floor for the next 3 nights after that so I am not too worried about seeing the animals the first night.
My 2 and 3 year old DD's won't want to hang out in the room anyways.
I am excited about the food and Diet Coke! Zebra Domes? Oh please say there are Zebra Domes! Also, being a Vegetarian, is there enough variety. I thought I read somewhere that you can request something if you need to. It's only for 1 night, but I want to Live It Up!!

I requested a savannah view and it was granted. As a pp mentioned, it's not a great view, but it's still a view! We saw many animals and had a great time. I liked being close to the lounge. We stayed concierge on the fifth floor several years ago before AKL was converted to part DVC and it had an amazing savannah view, but we had to hike to the elevators and take it up a floor to get to the lounge.

The food is good and there are many offerings. The resort itself has so many activities and great recreation. You really will find that at least a full day needs to be allocated to this resort to enjoy it fully. We took advantage of the Sunrise Safari and it was an amazing opp. We had a great time.

The CMs in the lounge are great. Very efficient and quick to answer questions. It's true that they email you at a certain amount of days out before your check-in so that you can inform them which ADRs you want. They've always been great in getting us everything we wanted (including awesome seats at Cirque du Soleil).

Enjoy! (Oh, and there were zebra domes there last year. They go really fast though, so be prepared.)

We'll be staying 15 nights in a club level studio in June. The IPO staff have been truly fabulous in securing all of our ADR requests, Sunrise Safari, fireworks cruise, etc.

We did a 10 night stay in '09 and had a pool view studio. It was very nice and we didn't really miss the savanna view.

I have never seen zebra domes in the lounge, but we usually have dinner reservations so we aren't around very often when they put the desserts out.

We noticed that the appetizers tend to go VERY, VERY quickly. If you want appetizers it's probably best to position yourself before they put them out and be ready to pounce.
