I need an appetizer that is budget friendly and can be served at room temperature. It is for a gathering I'm attending on Saturday. Any recipes you can recommend?? Thank you!!

Potato chips?

Chips and salsa?

Boxes of cookies?

Candy?

There really isn't much food that is made to be eaten at room temperature that is fancy enough to be called an appetizer.

Hummus and pita

No, Hummus should be kept cold. :)
Chips & Salsa, even though I prefer cold salsa. lol

You can put the hummus over an ice filled bowl, or even salsa. But we do eat hummus at room temp here, creamier.

Mexican Pinwheels

Yes, there is cream cheese in there but it's fine to serve at room temp. Just keep it refrigerated until you go. They never last long anyway ;)

How about a cheese and fruit plate? Add some crackers and voila!

Don't forget about "just" a veggie/dip tray either. At this time of year - many people prefer healthier options.

However - if you want something with a little "pizazz" what about spiced nuts? Easy-peasy to make too. The recipe is here! (Those go over "really big" when I go to book club!

Or - another idea (and I am speaking from book club experience - what about a dessert? Another favorite of our group is Neiman Marcus bars. That recipe is here!

What about a fruit tray? Or Fruit kabobs?

Rye bread, cheeze whiz, and green olive.
Slice olives rather thin. Spread cheez whiz on bread slice, place sliced olive in the center of bread. So good, easy and looks nice on a platter!
( I cut my bread in a circles with a cookie cutter)
