HELP! Need quick answer-Do you tip flower delivery person?

YES, tip the flower delivery person. They are delivering a perishable product. The flowers have to be kept cool and fresh while driving to you. Also they can get jostled around during delivery. They make very little money. Maybe 10 to $12$ per hour. Come on people tip the driver they're not being paid for healthcare, no vacation pay. If you think maybe i should tip this guy, you should. Try it once and see how much appreciation you get.
This does not qualify as a quick answer.

I have never tipped the flower delivery person, have never even thought about doing so. The last time flowers were delivered to me the owner of the shop delivered them himself. I doubt he was expecting a tip.

Pizza isn’t delivered as far out of town as we live, but if it was I definitely would tip the delivery person.

I have only had flowers delivered to the office, and I didn’t see the delivery person as it was left at reception. But I would have to agree that the person who sends a gift should be responsible for any gratuity for it’s delivery. I have had chocolate covered strawberries delivered to me at home a couple times and it was basically a drop and dash. By the time I got to the door, the delivery person was gone.

[Just saying, delivering flowers is a bit more involved than delivering a cardboard box. We make sure they are fresh, are arranged properly and will even give pointers on how to prolong their vase life. Give the driver a tip, trust me they will appreciate your consideration.

Why is it our responsibility to make sure you get healthcare or vacation pay? :confused3 This isn't a communist China, where I once read an article in which the author said her career was chosen for her since pretty much grade school and she wasn't able to change it later, even if she wanted. YOU have a choice to get a better job to get healthcare and vacation pay.

It is also not our responsibility as the recipient to make sure you keep the flowers cool and fresh while you are driving. If you don't have the proper equipment, you need to talk to your boss.

This reminds me of another delivery person of a different type of company, who also bumped up a zombie thread, to let us know, as the delivery person, we SHOULD be tipping him. If you both have to Google and post to random threads telling random people they should be tipping you, then obviously most people AREN'T. Again, you have a choice. Use that time to spend on Indeed.com and Monster.com and other job search sites, looking for a better job that will pay. At this time of year, UPS, FedEx and Amazon are looking for delivery people. Good luck.
