Hi! We will be traveling to WDW in December. Have been thinking about doing the Wishes cruise, any info you have would be greatly appreciated. (cost, when to arrive and at what resorts.) PS, this is my first post and have spent the last hour reading through the old posts on this topic. I'm still confused. I do love the Dis Boards. What a great place. Thanks, Glenna

We booked our first one for August it cost 200.00 we will be picked up at the contemporary between 8:30 and 9:00. If you get there right at 8:30 the captain might be ready and that will give you more time on the boat. It holds 8 people and we found people here on the DIS to share it with. We heard it was great are are looking foward to it. There may be other pick up spots. Also the captain will be expecting a tip not sure how much but have read here on the Dis around $20.00.

Hi and Welcome!! :) We are doing a wishes cruise for the second year in a row. There are 2 types of pontoon boats. One holds 8 and costs $200 per boat. The music is not piped in but last year we could hear it from the other boats that were near us. You can go with just your family or share with others. Last year because it was our first one and I wanted it to be special just my family went ,but this year I posted on the August thread and got other people to share the cruise and cost. The other pontoon boat holds up to 10 people and has the music piped in. It is more expensive ($250 I think) but I'm not 100% sure because we booked the smaller one. It leaves from the various resorts located on 7 Seas Lagoon. Ours is leaving the Contempory because that is the resort I requested because we are having dinner at Chef Mickeys that evening. They pick you up about an hour before Wishes so in our case since Wishes is at 10 ,they are picking us up at 9. You are taken on a tour of the lagoon. The captains of the boats told us alot of interesting facts about WDW and the resorts. It was awesome. Hope I answered all of your questions. Have a magical trip. Sheila

Thank you Sheila & Scraper for your responses. I do have one other question- Does the $200.00 include tax? And yes, you have helped answer my questions.

Yes that does include tax, but as Scraper said it is customary to tip the capain 20%-25% (or about $40-$50 ) :sunny:

Thanks again for the info. We'll be sure to tip our captain at least 20%.
