My friend and I are trying TheGroceryGame.com's 4 weeks for $1 trial. So far, we are not conviced that it will be worth a full price membership. Does anyone out there subscribe to this?......Have any past or present experiences they could share?.......Any thoughts, suggestions or warnings? :confused3

i liked it at first but then the ads used on the website were always last weeks....i couldn't figure it out when that happened and quit.
before that happened it was really great though.
takes a bit of work to understand and you need a source for coupons.

I've been doing it for about 6 months now. At first I was spending more than normal, but after getting a "stockpile" together my grocery bill is almost always lower. I can't seem to have the success of $30 weekly grocery bills, but before I was spending about $150 a week, and now my bill is anywhere from $110-$130, so it's definately less. If we're having a party it's more of course. I was doing 2 stores and after calculatting, I saved more with one particular store so I dropped one of them.

I also did the 4 week trial...Unfortunatley the spreadsheet for my store for the current week wasn't available till Tuesday, that didn't work for me. I work and have busy kids, so the only time I can go to the grocery store is on Sunday. Which meant the store had started a new sale week and the spreadsheet did me no good. So it didn't work for me, but for someone who has more time it can save you some money.

I was doing it for a while. I found that some of the items that the 'List' had as on sale were not on sale at my local store. I have recently found that I can do a better or about the same by checking out hotcouponworld.com. It has links for all kinds of stores (Grocery, CVS, Walgreens, Target, Walmart, Mall stores, etc). For my local grocery store, it posts the add a couple of days in advance and then everyone posts coupons match-ups for the items that are on sale (similar to what the List does). You should check it out. ;) ;)

I'm not happy with the service itself OR their customer service. I did the free trial...marked the date 4 weeks later when I'd need to cancel by. I went to cancel on that date and it was actually the day before...28 days. So I e-mailed them and got no response. Waited a week and tried again...and their answer was, pretty much, TOO BAD. So I ended up paying $30 for 2 months worth of this useless to me service. My error, but they could have been more gracious about it...pro rated or something.

Anyway, some of what others have said made it not work well for me. The ads aren't always posted in a timely manner, one of our local stores doesn't participate so I still have to do that one myself and I found it to be a little confusing. So I'll stick with going through the ads the way I have always done. I also read about couponmom.com which is supposed to be a similar service but is free.

Wow! I can't believe all these people unhappy with the grocery game! I love, love, love the grocery game. I'm aware that there are websites that could assist me in doing this myself for free but I'm not dedicated enough to make that work, nor do I have a price book of any kind to tell me what a "good" price is. Grocery game does all this for me. Matches up the sales prices with the coupons and tells me what's a great deal this week. Then I choose which of those things I want to buy. Love it! I do Publix and Winn Dixie. My Publix list is Sunday to Weds, my Winn Dixie list is Sunday to Tues.I do all my grocery shopping Sunday or Monday. I save way more than the cost of the list every 8 weeks. My $15 averaged out over 8 weeks works out to $1.87 per week. I save way more than $1.87 per week due to the list so it's worth it for me.

If you have any specific questions, let me know.

I've been doing it since April and I really like it so far. I have 1 grocery store list and 2 drug store lists. My savings through May is 42%. I'm hoping that goes up but my grocery store does not double coupons so it's hard to get the deals everyone else talks about in my store. My grocery list comes out on Wed pm or Thurs am and the sales start on Tuesday so it's not too bad for me. What I like most about it is that it tells me which items are at their 'rock bottom price'. I scout the ads when they come out and think that they will be on my list but then they won't be. I wait and, sure enough, the next week or so it is on sale even cheaper. Without that I would always be kicking myself because I bought too early. I also now have a freezer and pantry stocked with food so we rarely go out to eat or stop to get take out. It's working for me!

Also, I would suggest checking out the message boards available from the site if you have questions or problems. The group on those boards are super-friendly and very helpful in spotting hidden deals and the best way to maximize the game.

Yesterday I discovered the Publix website's list making feature which will work better for me. I just go to the on-line circular and click on the items that I want to purchase. I click to add them to my list and then print. It prints all the items that I want with their sale prices and location. Then I can add other items that I have coupons for and pencil them into the list.

This might seem like a little more work but it should prove to be very helpful for me. Also, grocery game does not get the Publix list prepared in a timely manner. Our sale prices start on Thursdays and as of this afternoon the grocery game site was still producing the old list. That wont work for me so I plan to cancel the trial membership.

I just started the game. The sales at the stores I shop at come out on Wednesday, but aren't posted until Sunday. It's a great site if the sales listed weren't so far behind for me. It was great for CVS. For most everything else I could find the same information on other websites for free. I'm not sure I'm going to go past the trial.

I have started up and cancelled a few times.
I figured that I could do what they were offering on my own. I guess it's an to each is own kind of thing.
Plus it was crazy as the sales for my stores do not start until Fridays.

Anyway, I have done way better on my own. JMO

I'm doing the $1 trial also. So far I've found it to be useless...:confused3

I've been doing it for 2 months and I love it. For the low cost each 8 weeks I don't have to search the circulars and then go match the coupons. I print the list, take my coupons to the store and walk out with no less that a 50% savings. I have been as high as 65%.

Now, I do have a friend who only uses a free website She had a 600(+)$ total at Harris Teeter during triples week and came out spending 75$. I haven't done that well but I'm trying.

My stockpile is already amazing though. I won't need toothpaste, tooth brushes, deoderant or toilet paper.

I am definately going to cancel. I just dont see how it saves the big money. I seldom have the coupons that are referenced by the list and I can search the circulars myself.

I would love to know more about how to save 50% with it, I must just really be missing something.
