Help! Need advice on resort choice...

I'm trying to keep my life interesting , and am second-guessing my resort choice for our late Nov./early Dec. trip to the World.

Currently booked at POFQ, but have been hoping that AP rates will come out for our time frame, and maybe we can get a coveted spot in the WL.

However...

For the likely same amount an AP rate might be (based on how they've been running lately), I could see if I could rent points for a studio at BCV.

What would you do? Cast of characters is just me (27) and DH (30). It's our 1st trip to the World at the holidays, and I absolutely love Christmas!!

Personally, I always rent points for a villa for a Sun-Thurs night stay. It's a great idea!

As far as availibility of Beach Club villas, that's another story! Beach Club Villas are very hard to get :
1) because the BC is a small DVC resort and
2) it's very popular with DVC members who can book it at 11 months out
3) Thanksgiving week until Christmas is a big DVC time and books up quickly

You could try it but it would probably be a long shot. You would have better luck renting points for a villa at VWL (but that books months in advance at that time of year too)or just book WL using a rate code. IMO, If you use a rate code, I would go for WL over POFQ.

If you decide to rent points, I can give you the email address of someone I rent my points from. He may have points for you to rent and can confirm what's available. Points are most effective when used for a Sun-Thurs stay. We always use AP rates for AKL for the weekend and it comes out much cheaper.

FYI, we rented a studio at VWL from him last year in late Nov and I had to book it 7 months out to get it. They fill up fast!
