We've never used the dining plan before and last time just did mostly counter service meals. It was included with our package and I just was too busy to look into it. Now we are leaving on Friday, Nov 20th, we have no reservations and I had no idea how hard it was to get them. I didn't want to have to worry about where we were going to be each day. Will it be impossible to walk in? It sounds like some people are calling in the morning and making them? I don't want them to go to waste - are we going to be able to use them? My son isn't into character breakfasts so I don't care about those. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

I've heard some people say that they have had luck at getting into some places as a walk up, but not many. The restaurant in Morocco is usually available, possibly some of the resort restaurants.

Many people make their reservations the day the window opens (now 180 days). You can book reservations online, and I would try to get something for each day so that your credits do not go to waste.

mmm... Make what you can now. At the VERY LEAST book an ADR each morning before you go out, or at a park. Your pickings will be slim no matter which way.
But you want something lined up so you don't waste your credits.
Walk up will just be luck of the draw. It may work. It may not. Choose larger restaurants that seat a lot. (Such as Nine Dragons, Biergarten, Marrakesh, Tutto.)
Off the track places are usually available too. Try: Sanaa; Turf Club; Shutters; Olivia's; Captain's Grill.
Without ADRs lined up you will most likely spend more time getting around to locations, or looking for any place accepting walk ups. Try off or opening times also.

Try resorts that are near the parks you are planning on being at each day. You might have a shot at restaurants that are noncharacter ones... Kona and Grand Floridian Cafe, for example, are both noncharacter and on the monorail so reasonable for days when you are at Epcot or Magic Kingdom.
Have you looked with the online system to see if what is open on the days you are going?
Good luck!

eta: glancing online, I am seeing openings for 2 (I used 2 people as that is what you mentioned in your OP). I'd look for some that interest you... you could reserve them and if they don't work with your plans that day, you could end up canceling when you are there.

Head over to the WDW official site and go to dining. You may be able to find some restaurants for ADRs that way. If you try a particular restaurant, but it isn't available, the system will give you possible alternates..which is helpful.
Try for resort restaurants in the area of the park you'll be at. Those tend to fill up slower than the park restaurants.
