Help!!! Need A Camera

can anyone please help me find a good camera that i'll be happy with? lol
heres my problem, my husband got me for mothers day a real nice hp photosmart r827 for 130.00 . it has alot of nice features but the thing is i am NOT a photo person. i dont understand all the lingo on setting up for a great picture.
my daughters birthday was yesterday and with this camera i didnt get one good picture, they were either blurry or the light was wrong. besides that everyone got frustrated with me cause it would take me like me 5 minutes just to get a shot. I even had it on auto everything. so heres what i need help with, i want to find a decent digital camera that is idot proof. i just want to be able to shoot a picture right then and there , and not worry about do i have it on the right mode or setting. my price range is between $100 - $200 . please can someone help me before my kids turn old and gray before i get pictures of them. thanks

If I were you, I would look in the Canon A series range of cameras. The link below will give you a good idea. These should be just fine for you on the auto setting.

I'm not sure a new camera is the solution. This is a perfectly acceptable camera (at least by point-and-shoot standards). It sounds like you are taking too many suggestions from others. It may be that all you need to do is use the camera, in auto mode, without anyone around. Don't use any other setting except auto until you are happy with most of the results.

Try taking outside pictures first, say of plants, flowers, etc. Try moving close to objects, focusing and shooting. I assume to have to press the button half-way down to focus, so try that to ensure your subject is in focus first, then press the button the rest of the way. Look at the pictures and see what you don't like about them, then try again.

Once you feel OK about those pictures, try indoors. This will be much harder to be happy with. You will most likely have the flash unit going off to get the right amount of light. That's OK. Just keep trying to get pictures that you are satified with.

Next, try people outside, then indoors. Once you have the hang of it, then you can come back to the DIS and ask how to take pics in P mode. Then scenes. Then Av, Tv, etc. It takes time but I think you will be happier if you progress on your own for awhile.

And if not, then hand the camera to your husband next time you are at WDW and let him snap the photos. Then you can ride the rides while he wastes his time getting set up.
