I am usually very good at this, but I think I need your help! We just got a new horse donated to my farm for use in our Special Olympics program. He's super cute, with a smart and sweet disposition. He is a dark bay (for those of you not familiar with horse color terminology, this means he is a VERY dark brown...almost black, with a black mane and tail, black legs and a light brown muzzle). Dh and I tend to name all of our horses and other pets after characters on the Simpsons (we have a Homer, Mr. Burns, Milhouse, Itchy, Scratchy etc). However, the head of the Sp. Olympics doesn't particularly care for human names for the horses
. The horse's current name is "Rocker" because of his rocking chair-like canter. We all agree that name has to go! We' d accept Disney names too!
I so far like the following:
Jack (because his coloring reminds me of a mule...and mules are called "jacks". Plus it's a cute name and seems to suit him. AND DH and I are total Jack Black fans).
Ralphie (after Ralphie Wiggum on the Simpsons)
Stewie (after Stewie Griffin on "Family Guy")
Brego (he looks like Aragorns horse, Brego from LOTR)
Suggestions made by my students:
Brownie (boring, but he does look like brownie batter in color!)
Some more suggestions guys!!! We have Sp. Olympic practice tonight and I need a name for him before the athletes show up. Otherwise if I have to let the kids/athletes name him, we'll wind up with a horse named "Ketchup" or "Fire Truck", bless their hearts.
