HELP! My Pictures are Gone!

I was looking through my Disney pictures in Windows Live Photo Gallery on my computer. I rotated several of them, and now all the ones I rotated are completely gone from my pics.

Can anyone tell me where they are? They appear to be gone from my computer, but all I did was rotate them!

Please help!

Only a guess, but if you have Windows Live photo gallery (which I'm assuming Windows 7), when you rotated them, that was akin to editing them, so the computer may have 'resaved' the photos to a new location? If you have Windows 7, check around in the main folder in your 'Library' section - look in My Pictures. Hopefully they are there.

If not, another thing you might try is to go into the Windows Live photo gallery, and while viewing a photo, go to the file menu and 'save as' - see what folder the program is saving to by default...that might tell you where the photos might have gone.

Thank you! I googled it, and apparently there's some kink with McAfee and Photo Gallery. There are instructions for fixing it and recovering the photos. Now I just have to see if I am smart enough to follow the instruction without messing up other things.

When editing pictures, even simple things like a rotate to make it easier to look at, do not do a regular save but rather use the "save as".

Otherwise some quality loss (generation loss) can happen.
