HELP!! My mom had knee surgery and now she can't walk a lot!

My poor mom! She has been looking forward to this trip for so long, and then had to have knee surgery. (She's 76 years old) She's working on getting back up to her normal ability, but won't be up to par when we go.

A couple of questions:

• Since she doesn't do any thrill rides, we're thinking of doing WWHP, then going to Universal Studios all in one day. Is there any shorter way to get from IOA to US rather than going all the way back to the front then across?
  
• If she needs one, how do we get an ECV for her at US/IOA?

If staying onsite ECV can be found at the concierge desk you can call ahead and make a reservation - they are cheaper at the hotels then they are at the park ent. I got it in RPR for my grandmother a couple of years ago.

If offsite it is cheaper and easier option to have a private company rental as its delivered to your hotel and they pick it up; daily rates and weekly rates are better and it stays with your in your room.

The only way to get from IOA to US, is out the front gate,turn left at the lake, walk past NBA, and HRC.(You dont have to walk past Margarittaville like when you came in)When you get to the Blue Man Group entrance, go down that walkway, but instead of walking straight into the theatre, turn right, and under the coaster, is a gate to get in. The gate doesnt open until around noonish though.If you go earlier then noon, then youll have to walk to the globe, and use the main entrance.Just walk past the BMG entrance.

If you dont get a ECV from off site, and your not staying onsite, when you park your car in the garage, theres an ECV wheelchair rental place in the terminal where the 2 parking garages meet.If they dont have ECVs, theyll definitely have the reg wheelchairs, to at least get you to a park to get an ECV.I dont remember off hand if they have the ECVs in the parking garage.Its located on the left side, as you come off the walkways from the garages, across the hall from the restrooms.
