Every time one of my kids gets out of our Maclaren Volo, the dang thing tips over. What can I do (besides take the bag hanging off of the back) to weigh it down? I cant take the bag off, cuz the basket underneath is so small it doesnt fit too much.
Any suggestions. Please help

Thanks
Fran

PS I LOVE everything else about this stroller.

Someone on another thread mentioned "tip me not" stroller weights which can be seen pictured HERE , they are not readily available in the US however something like these 2lb wrist weights would work just as well. :)

hth!

I'm probably not much help as I've never tried it with mine but it seems like I remember hearing someone on here mention something about putting weights down by the front wheels. I'm not sure how they did it but besides taking the bag off the back that is the only thing I could think of. I know they have organizers that are made for the macs but I don't have any experience with those either.

Here are a few tips that I posted on a similar thread:

--you can use ankle/wrist weights and put them over the front wheels. I think they would velcro around your ankle/wrist so put these around the front stroller legs instead.

--depending on what you hanging on the back of the stroller, as your child gets out you can quickly flip the bag or whatever over onto the seat and then flip it back to let your child sit again.

--you can also buy saddlebags (Skip Hop, Carry You, etc.) and then place these low on the stroller sides and it gives added weight in the back and they can actually carry quite a bit w/o being bulky. They should be able to be folded right up with the stroller too.

--For extra sun protection, you can buy a Kiddopotamus Rayshade. They are usually $15 or less and are great at shading your little ones when needed and fold right up small if not needed.

Thank you so much.

great suggestions here.

I would add that that understorage area is a lot bigger than it looks! I generally put a good size back pack in one stroller and a soft sided cooler in the other mac volo for water bottles and such.

I use the flip the bag to the seat trick and back again when they "reboard" ! I have taught my kiddos to wait for my signal to "disembark". they love to pretend they are deplaning and such.

I agree, love my Macs but not the tippy part. I have them connected at moment (making a double volo!) and darn if that thing doesn't tip one stroller even with one in other side if I try to leave a bag on. now, I rarely connect them but I was practicing up for disney next week when DH and older kids take off for big rides and leave me with 2 little ones. It works well!
