Hi Everyone-
I need your help. My Graco travel system stroller is almost impossible to push with him in it. My son will be 2 next month and weighs a little more than 30 lbs. He still needs to be in a stroller. We go to Disneyland all the time and shopping... lots of places that we need to take a stroller. We have a Maclearen umbrella stroller but I would like one that I can load up with lots of stuff, recline and I hate not having a cupholder for myself.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a good stroller to get or a place to get a good stroller for cheap. What are you opinions on a PegPergo or a larger Maclaren? I would like it to recline, have cup at least 1 holder, and some sort of basket or storage area. It also needs to be as budget as possibe. Now I know you get what you pay for, I am hoping someone knows something. Please share. Thank you

Jennifer

When my son was almost 2 I had a similar situation. I ended up buying a Graco Metrolite because the stroller was much lighter than my standard travel system and it still had a tray/cupholder for him, cupholders for me, adjustable handles for my DH and I and a very large storage basket. It was a great stroller. 3 years later, I still use it often with my 2nd now 2.5 year old son.

We also have a Phil & Teds Sport Buggy which is fantastic for pushing (I can easily push my 45 pound 5 year old & my 28 pound 2 year old at the same time with the second seat attached) and has a large enough under basket, but it's very heavy to lift and not very easy to quickly load/unload for the tram or the monorail, especially if you're by yourself.

For Disneyland, I would definately recommend the Metrolite over the (more expensive) Phil & Teds. In fact, I almost always take my metrolite there myself ;)

Good luck finding a stroller. I know how much a good stroller can make a trip that much easier.

I LOVE my MetroLite. DS will be 3 in May, we use it ALL the time. It's been thrown into a trunk more times than I could tell you, and brought to WDW on a plane. It is still in pretty good shape and so unbelievably easy to maneuver. DS is 31lbs and it doesn't feel any different pushing him in this now than it did when he was an infant. And, there is a basket underneath to hold some things and 2 cupholders for me, 1 cupholder and snacktray for DS. I have found some on EBAY and Craigslist. Mine is the Delancy pattern (black and this blue/gray color, very gender neutral). I have actually stopped people registering for baby gifts at BRU to tell them about this stroller...

I just looked it up online and it says 40 lbs. If you are just looking for something for WDW, have you thought of a stroller swap? I'm not taking my metrolite because, it's 3 years old and I need it to last as long as DS needs a stroller. I'll buy a new one if/when theres a new tot!

I am signed up for two swaps right now...a double (my aunt with my 2 cousins), and a single for myself. The links are in my signature if you're interested.

We are taking our cheapo umbrella stroller for the airport, but plan on putting it under a resort bed until we leave.

no, not for walt disney world. we live in Cali and go to disneyland all the time. Also I would like one that I can load up when we go shopping for the day or ... Yikes, 40 lbs. Has anyone use a metrolite on a child over 40lbs.? My son will be 2 in April and probably weighs 33 or 34 pounds.

I've heard good things about this one!

If you really love your current stroller, try spraying some WD-40 into the wheels and push it around a bit so it really gets in there. I resurrected an old stroller like this and it pushed so much better and easier, better than new.

I was going to say the same thing. You are actually suppose to do this to all strollers every 3 mos or so for maintenance. Something I just found out when my peg wasn't pushing so well. Worked great. My 6 yo DD is almost 40 lbs and I can push her in any of my multitude of strollers (I have a problem I know!:rotfl: ) I have the peg double that I use for DD and DS so almost 70 lbs total no problems, I have a fisher price sit and stand and a graco single stroller travel system. I can push her in any of them. In fact, I had dd and ds in the single graco stroller recently and had no problems then. (NOT something I do often but DD had gotten hurt on a walk and I was very close to home.) All that to say, try the WD 40. It may just work!

We have a Graco Metrolite and a Peg Aria for DS2. I've brought both of them to WDW and prefer the Aria. It's smaller, more lightweight, and can fold with one hand.

You may want to look at a jogger type of stroller the baby jogger city mini is the smallest w/ a 50 pound weight limit and has everything but the cupholder I have valco cupholder one mine and it is a blessing b/c I love my cupholders. The cheapest you can get a new one right now is about 199 w/ free shipping. Check craigslist to see what they have you may be able to find something worth getting. depending on the jogger you choose you will have anywhere from a 40 to 75 pound weight limit. I use the bjcm w/ my 5yr old who weighs 40 pounds my 8yr old who weighs 52 can ride in it w/ no trouble as well.
