My daughter is convinced that if she makes her wish during WISHES that it will come true! So we have gently tried to tell her sometimes wishes come true and sometimes not! But her only reply is that EVERY wish comes true in WDW!!!

So obviously I know we cannot pull off the wish she wants but I want to try and get close! She wants Sleeping Beauty to go on a ride with her! So we are thinking maybe we can buy a SB doll and somehow get a CM to present it to her! Do you think we could pull it off?

Now normally I would not make such a big deal but it is WDW after all! And she is a pretty sensible kiddo ( already does not believe in santa or Easter bunny ) but she is not giving on this one.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! We have never done WISHES so I am not sure how to go about it all!

Can't hurt to ask at City Hall/Guest Services when you get there... you never know!

All wishes *do* come true at Disney, my dear...your daughter's a smart cookie! I think your idea is great and as a former CM, 'our' entire raison d'etre was to make sure everyone we encountered had the most wonderful, magical vacation possible. Now, that being said, I am not sure Sleeping Beauty would be able to giftyour daughter in person, as that would cause quite a commotion among the other little girls who would immediately also want a doll from her! What I would rec. is that you indeed contact guest relations, and see if they can have a Sleeping Beauty doll with a note from SB saying something about wanting to go on the rides with her, but she can't because Flora & Fauna don't let her go on rollercoasters, or she's afraid of heights, whatever. Guest relations can arrange a note from SB, as well as a doll, left in your room when you get back after the Wishes parade. Gosh, I just got goosebumps thinking about this! :lovestruc I miss this job! Those little smiles of joy - priceless! Anyway, hope that is some sort of help and enjoy! You are a great mama for trying to figure out how you can make her wish come true, and Disney will be happy to lend a hand.

my 2 cents is to buy yourself the most amazing SB doll u can find and type your DD a note from SB saying what the above poster recommended and then having it be a "tink gift" when u return to your room after wishes. A CM at your hotel may be able to tuck your tink gift in bed if u ask.

Good luck

There is a company - I'm sorry I forget the name - that arranges for "Magical Moments" in Disney. I've read posts where they've set up treasure hunts and spcial dinners and such as surprises for people traveling to Disney.

Various people have mentioned it on these boards and I'm sure if you post a question someone will know what I'm talking about. They have a website you can check out and maybe they can offer a suggestion on how they can help you make your daughter's wish come true. They're not cheap, but may be well worth it.

Another thought is to arrange to have the Sleeping Beauty doll - and maybe Sleeping Beauty play jewelry or tiara or t-shirt waiting for your daughter in you hotel room when you arrive (or have it delivered). It can come with a special messgage from Sleeping Beauty saying something like how honored she is that yor daughter wants to go on a ride with her, but being a Princess she has lots of duties and responsiblities which won't allow her to ride with your daughter so she is sending this special gifts for your daughter to help enjoy her stay.

I'm sure you can call Disney and purchase Sleeping Beauty park items and ask to have them delieverd to your room upon arrival. They arrange it for flowers and wine baskes and such, so I'm sure they can do this.
Good Luck!

Just another thought. If your DD really wants to meet Aurora perhaps you can convince her with an invitation delivered to her that she is invited to a tea party. There is a tea party that features SB at the Grand Floridian and it really is very nice. I took my DGD who was 5 at the time an it while it was a little pricey, it was a much more personal meeting with the Princess. She is given an American Girl dressed like Sleeping Beauty as a keepsake.

I wonder if your little Princess would enjoy this very "grown up" affair in place of a ride.

life hurts sometimes, she'll figure it out.

If she doesnt believe in Santa and Easter Bunny then she's pretty smart, and will get over it.

I might also suggest that you making such a big deal about it will only make it worse. If you stop talking about it completely (stop talking about wishes at all), there's a good chance that she will be totally overloaded at Disney and forget all about it. She is after all,.....5 years old

Sleeping beauty on a wishes cruise. Hmmm. Try and pull that one off.

What a wonderful memory! One year at Xmas time "Santa" left some gifts wrapped on Britts bed while she was out w/ Daddy. She was young, I brought them w/ us. "Santa" (a cm) even called and left a message on our phone while they were out. She was amazed that "Santa" knew so much info about her ie; where she was spending Xmas eve and Xmas day. At the MVMCP that night she kept thanking "Santa" when she was on his lap, poor Santa was confused at first and then got w/ the program. She talked about that forever. At least until she aged and the "wool" was pulled from her eyes ;) .

I agree! Wishes do come true at least at Disney. I'm 34 and I still believe. :goodvibes This was a wonderful idea. I hope the OP tells us what she plans to do and how it all works out. I'm sure she'll love it. My DD's wish is to go back to Disney and it will come true next month and she has no idea. It's these special moments that we are blessed to have that make parenting fun.

My comment wasnt meant as negative. I just think that a 5 year old wouldnt understand an attempt to "sort of" make a wish come true. To a 5 year old....having a Sleeping Beauty doll in a ride with her is almost a cruel joke compared to what she would have built up in her head. She can't rationalize that her parents tried to do "the next best thing".

If you're really concerned with a child's disappointment, then you either try diversion tactics, or you brush it off the same way as is done when a child asks Santa for a gift that is too expensive.

I do have to kind of agree....noone pooped in my cereal either ;) but I would NEVER depend on strangers to help make my dd's wishes come true. She never knew about "Santa" or the pending phone call. She would've been none the wiser had it NOT happened. I think I would have a "backup" plan. I'm sure at 5 yrs old you could think of something to "help" the wish along.

:lmao: :rotfl: Where's the tag fairy when you need him/her?
:lmao: I'm starting to think the tag fairy is an elusive, mythical creature, much like the Yeti. I am just not funny. I try. But no matter what I say, not funy. Maybe I should just try nonsensical ramblings. Like:

The monkey sunrise is beautiful over the orangatang moon of May.

I think this one might come back to haunt you! BTW, I thought you were extremely funny! Your comment (well, something similar anyway) is usually the kind of thing that immediately runs through my mind when reading some of the posts on these boards. I usually manage to fight the urge, but sometimes it just takes hold and wins the battle! ;)
