In November I booked Caribbean Beach for 20 nights from 18/09/08 to get the free dining plan.

I just checked the school dates for the kids and realise that actually i'm a week out so I just tried to amend the dates (only moving it by exactly 1 week) and they said if I change the date I will lose the free dining, even though the moving dates are still within the free dining period (they said they don't have the code anymore) but surely they already have it.

How can I lose the free dining which is attached to my booking if i'm only changing the date! If I keep the dates as they are now it will mean taking the kids out of school for 13 days and I just can't do that.

I'm really upset because I messed up the dates and we will have to stay at the All Star resort if I can't keep the dining.

Help! Someone please tell me there is a code or a way to keep the dining. :sad1:

Well, how things can change in a second eh!

I got DH to phone Disney to argue the fact that the code is already attached to our booking and all we want is a date change and the guy he spoke to had no problem with it at all!

DH just said we needed to change the date slightly and the guy said no problem and then DH asked if he could confirm that the DDP is still attached and all the other details and yes it's all there, phew!

Although now DH is keeping that one as an IOU :lmao:

I think its because the offer has ended. If the offer was still going on then it wouldn't be a problem but they finished that offer in November.

Can you just cancel part of the trip and then rebook a week without the dining plan or pay for the dining plan for the extra week?

We were due to get there on the 18th but I now need to arrive on the 25th.

Will the problem remain the same though if I cancel the first week and then add on a week, won't they say the same thing with the change of dates?

WOHOW! Well done. I think if you had cancelled the one week you would have got the 14 days at the free dining and then pay for dining for the other but it doesn't matter now anyway. Congrats!

Well done, Paula-Jane and hubby - fantastic news... :thumbsup2

Glad you got it sorted, it annoys me so much when staff are not consitant with their answers. They should all have the same training and stick to the same rules. They are lucky to keep your booking, I would have cancelled and stayed offsite, If I had been told no I couldn't change I would not have rung again.

good to see you got it sorted

worth the second phone call
