Help me with this homework

Don't laugh at me...my daughter is in second grade and her homework is to come up with words from the letters that spell Monarch. We did ok until we got to six letter words. I can't come up with any! It's kinda a family affair with this homework so don't scold me for doing it with her...the teacher encourages it! So, six letter word out of

Good one! Now why couldn't I come up with that??? Actually, she is doing her work for the week we will be gone and we have been on it after school, took a couple of hours to do our trip shopping and then came back to it. I am about homeworked out for the night. But...we will have everything done and turned in before we leave so Thanks!

Do they REALLY expect a 2nd grader to know these words!?!? For the love of Pete do they really think that kids should know a 5-6-7 letter word from those letters?

I don't think kids are dumb but I do think that they are expecting WAY too much to have a child come up with these words.

I had to help my niece with homework while she was in 1st grade (about a yr ago) and I couldn't do it. I could help her with some of her English/science type homework but no math.

I'm dreading the day when DD's go to school. I'm a freaking moron with math and they keep making it more and more difficult so I feel like an idiot.

I'm guessing that is why they say it can be a family activity, lol. But the real question is: Do they really expect MOM and DAD to be able to figure it out!!!! Obviously I'm struggling with it! Heck, I'm not even sure I spelled struggling right! Thank goodness my work program has spell check built in!
