Help me with Days of the week

My family will be visiting France at the end of July and early August. I have managed to convince my family to stay two days on property at DLRP. It looks like our two options are both Saturday and Sunday. Is it crazy to try to do both parks in August on a weekend? I know that at WDW that would be crazy, but I am not sure if it is different. I am getting conflicting information from the guide book I ordered and online sites. Any help would be appreciated.

August is definitely peak season. I would recommend Sunday over Saturday. Also
  • get there EARLY
  • consider staying onsite for Extra Magic Hour and/or Fantasyland breakfast
  • skip the attractions which are identical to the American parks
  • use Fastpasses

I just realized that you are there both days - yes, it is definitely doable

My mom just told me that we can go during the week, it will just make us spend more time on the road. Is it worth doing that to avoid crowds?

Also, I have had trouble with planning this park because I am so used to the abundance of information that WDW has. What are good websites for me to look at to see which rides are identical and what things not to miss?

Frankly, this site is one of the best, even if a little less busy than the other boards here. Do a lot of reading - go back several pages of posts.

there are no books readily available in America, but if you can find 'the Brit's Guide to DLRP' on eBay or Amazon it is worth buying.

If you speak French, there are other forums worth visiting as well.

Hi :goodvibes

I have been in August before and it was crowded but with nice weather. It was also on a weekened but we got to do everything we wanted but then we also had 3 days at the parks.
I find www.dlrpmagic.com to have lots of helpful infos about attractions. Be sure to have an idea what attractions you really want to do so you don`t lose time and get there early! Do the most popular attractions at the beginning.
And be sure to ask a lot of questions here, because there are a lot of good tips to get here and we like to help planning! This board made it possible for me to do a onedaytrip on a very crowded saturday and see everything I wanted at both parks, have a lunch break and do some shopping:eek: !

I would say it is not easy to do both parks on one weekend in July/August.
There are school holidays in whole France! The resort will be very crowded. Waiting times like 120 min for BTM, SM2 and PP, and more than 60 minutes for POTC, PM, Buzz, Star Tours are possible! And don't forget the heat!
And since April you can only hold one FP at the time! (Like in all other Disneyparks around the world!)

If you could go for two weekdays you will have more fun! ;)

i think i would be more attracted to a mid week visit in peak season, although saying that we are going to be in the parks over this bank holiday weekend:rotfl: :rotfl: but also get 2 week days included.

have to say that this board gives the best honest information that I have seen regarding all things disney and the tips and hints are fab. I often read back through the pages or search for a topic that i would like info on.
