DH and I are going to the World Sept 13-19. We had everything all set as far as meals. Then we had a set back, DH was looking up menus for our lunch with his grandparents on monday (another new thing) and he looked up Coral Reef and decided he did not like the menu. We have a ADR for monday night. I was doing this for him. I do not like seafood except Crab Legs, I really just wanted to go for the atmosphere. So I guess the question is should I just cancel this reservation and eat at counter service that night??? We are doing Planet Hollywood for lunch so I know we dont need a big meal. Please help and sorry for it being a long explantion.

If the menu doesn't appeal to him then definitely cancel and have Counter Service. Sunshine Season in The Land offers some great choices, as do the World Showcase countries.

Epcot offers several counter service options with food better than Coral Reef (and quieter too).

Coral Reef has other things on their menu besides seafood they have steak that everyone seems to rave about and if i remember correctly my son had a mushroom raviolli that he loved. We ate their in june and loved the food and the atmosphere, we were lucky to get a seat by the tank it was wonderful, and at least when we ate there it was very peaceful not noisy at all.If it was me I would choose Coral Reef over any counter service but to each his own. Hope this helps OP.

The Coral Reef is a family favorite. My DD9 and DS7 love it, but so do my DH and I! It has been our most relaxing meal the past two trips. My son and DH do not eat seafood, at all. My DD9 loves the Mahi mahi, I got a steak and seafood combo. My DS7 got pizza and DH got a pumpkin risotto that was TDF. I found the staff more reserved than other restaurants, but friendly. I fantasized about eating there as a kid so was eager to get there with my own kids. It did NOT disappoint!

If you DID cancel and went for CS instead, we love the CS place in the Land as well.

Either way, you'll have a wonderful trip!!

Coral Reef does have a nice atmosphere and you don't have to get a big meal. You can eat an appetizer and dessert. The Chocolate Wave is awesome! But it's up to you to decide. But there is definetly variety at Coral Reef, that's for sure.
