We are going to be at WDW from 12-20 (Sat) until 12-26 (Fri). We will be on the DDP. I have several questions I am hoping you all can answer.

1. Are there special meals at the restaurants on Christmas Day or Christmas Eve?

2. Is Hoop-De-Doo open on Christmas Day? We will have 13 in our party.

3. What are good choices for Christmas, opinions please!

4. If you have an ADR at a park and the park has reached capacity (but you are outside the park),will they let you in for dinner?

Any answers and suggestions you have will be greatly appreciated!

1. Some places do have special menus for Christmas Day but not all of them.

2. Not 100% sure but I would be very surprised if it was closed that day.

3. We have done Boatwrights, Tony's and 'Ohana on Christmas and had a good time at all of them.

4. No, you have to arrive before the park closes or you will be out of luck.

1. Yes-some.
2. Don't know-I haven't been to HDDR in 30 years. :rotfl2:
3. We went to Le Cellier on Christmas Day '06. We had a wonderful meal. We did a 8:50pm ADR-which we thought would be bad-but it turned out to be great-we were the last seating, the restaurant started to quiet down during our meal, it was really peaceful and nice. Our server was awesome-she went above and beyond.

Christmas Eve '06 we did Cape May thinking it would be a good seafood choice-it was very disappointing-and we had been in the past and had loved it. They put in extra tables and crammed people in like sardines-I guess that was the "seafood" part of it b/c the seafood choices on the buffet were terrible-teeny tiny gritty clams...etc.:sad2:

We are going for Christmas this year and we are going to stick with the Signature restaurants for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We would do Le Cellier again-but want to do something different.

4. Depends on what "level" of closing they are at and if you are a resort guest...when they get to the final level-no one gets in period. I would avoid MK restaurants if aren't a gambling person. :rotfl: We did dinner in Cinderella's Castle NYE '04 and got in w/o a problem...but we were a little nervous about a closure and made sure to get in the park by 4pm just in case.

When they close the parks, so they keep count of how many leave and let in people in small numbers? So, if MK is closed at 11:00 AM, are you out of luck for the whole day, or do you just have to wait a little while for someone to leave?

If a park closes, they won't allow anyone near the turnstiles anymore. Ths buses won't run into the park anymore, they'lll close the parking lot, if enough people leave, they might reopen, but again they aren't letting people wait outside and if ssay 3 leave, they let 3 in. If you make an ADR in a park that historically has closed down before, just make sure that you're in that park in the AM, this way no reason to worry.

We have been for xmas week the last 3 years; the last two included xmas eve and xmas day. We choose not to go to a park on the holiday..we usually hit DTD or do a movie in the afternoon. 1st year we had xmas eve at Teppanaki in Japan with CP package then xmas morning(late-10:30am) we had great breakfast at 1900PF then shopped at DTD and then we hit CG for an amazing dinner(9:00pm) and great view of Wishes to make the holiday. This year we had dinner at LeCellier xmas eve(decided not to do CP pkge) and then saw Illuminations before exiting via IG. Xmas morning again we hit late breakfast at 1900PF(another wonderful meal) then we went to ICE! at Gaylord Palms Hotel and then dinner at BOMA. Once we arrived on xmas day(4 years ago) and we had great dinner at Artist Point in WL. As you get closer to the holiday, some restaurants will post their"holiday menus". The ones we have been to had a special entree for the holiday, but the menu (or buffet offerings) were pretty much the usual.

I agree with the post warning about park closures. If they close to all guests (including resort guests) you cannot enter the park even if you have adr...Its one of the reasons we choose to hit one of the resort restaurants for the holiday meals.
