Help Me With A Surprise Dinner at Victoria & Albert's!

Help! My wife and I are staying at the GF from 5/15/thru 5/19 for our anniversary and I wanted to surprise her with dinner at Victoria & Albert's. I have already made ressies for 5/16. I can't give away the surprise before we get there by packing my suit, etc and telling her to pack an evening dress, shoes, etc. How can I get these items down there without her knowing? I was thinking of overnighting them down the day before and having them delivered to our room (or I could pick them up at the desk). Any ideas?

What a great surprise! If you do send a package and use USPS don't include the POBox number that's on the address on your confirmation sheet...just use the street address. I learned this the hard way a couple of weeks ago. If you usually only pack very casual clothes, I guess I'd send the package. But if you bring any dressy clothes at all you should be OK anyway as long as you have a jacket. You don't have to wear a suit and your wife doesn't have to have an evening dress...just a dress or pantsuit that she'll feel special in. Maybe you could order a new one!

What a beautiful surprise! I know that other people on the boards have sent packages to their resort, so that when they arrived the items they wanted were already there. Anybody out there able to help with details on doing this?

Sounds like a great suprise!!
I imagine if you just call the GF directly they could tell you the best way to get your things down there in advance.

How about suggesting that you celebrate your anniversary by 'going dressy' to one of your usual restaurants. This way you'll make sure she has the dress/shoes/nylons/purse/appropriate undergarments becuase she packed it herself - then on the day of or on the way to dinner surprise her with a 'new' plan.
