Help me -- what are my options?

We were arriving on 6/7 and staying 8 nights at AKL. Our flight got cancelled and we were able to book it for 6/6 arriving in MCO at 7:00. I hate to spend all that money on AKL for an additional night especially since we will be arriving late. Should we book one night at POP to save money and then change resorts the next morning? How does our luggage get to the different resort? Help me -- what would you do?

Disney will move your luggage for you.

If I stay at a value, I can check out in the morning and then take a bus to AK and then onto AKL. Can I bring our carryons on the bus (beach bag, etc.)? How long will it be before our luggage arrives?

The answer to your first 2 questions is...yes. Your luggage will arrive in the afternoon. They won't guarantee a time. You can take a taxi with your luggage to AKL and leave it with bell services until your room is ready.

You can bring whatever you like on the bus, check in at AKL, and stash your carry on stuff with the bell desk if you want to visit a park. Luggage gets picked up in the morning, sorted in the middle of the day, and delivered to your new resort in the afternoon. Could be by 2 but 3-4 is more likely I'd recommend that you go and have fun, then return in late afternoon. When your luggage arrives you can get it delivered to the new room.
