Help me understand this... availability by adding days.

When checking availability with the room-only code for April 16 - 21, it comes up that nothing is available, yet...

When checking for April 11 - 21, (which obviously includes the 16 - 21) it comes up as available.

I have seen others post about the same thing, and that they were able to get their choice resort by adding a day or days.

Many respond with, "Book it, then modify it later." Does this work? Will we still get the discount?

And can anyone explain why this happens? DH wonders if the first few days are available with the discount, meaning checking in on the 11 is still available with the discount, but there are no rooms available for that discount with a check-in date of the 16Th. If that's true... why would the room still be discounted the 16 - 21, just by checking in on the 11Th?

Or is it just a glitch in the system?

I would just book the extra days and then call in a couple of days and remove them!

Same thing happened to me when I was tryng to remove the DDP from my package. They said that the discount was not available for those days.... After a couple of minutes a "new code" came up and i was able to book. I'm guessing they have blackout dates for room only discounts but not for packages...BTW our vacation is April 22nd-27th.
