help me understand 1 day memory maker?

Hi

I read this:

Memory Maker One Day is now available. For $59, get the photos from one day theme park visits. This is only available for purchase in the My Disney Experience app and can only be purchased during or after your vacation if you have PhotoPass photos in your account.

So I can purchase the memory maker after my vacation?

It doesnt need to be on my magic bands before?

There is much confusion about Memory Maker and Photopass. I wish Disney marketing would clean it up...

Photopass is FREE to all guests. It consists of the photographers, and the on-ride photos, you can only view the photos using MDE app, or online account, NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Includes Magic Shots, and everything else. However, Photopass is simply the taking of the photos... nothing more. In order to do anything with the photos, except view them for a few days, you need to purchase a product.

Memory Maker is one product, (the main one) that allows you to save the photopass photos, and download them to your computer. The photopass photos are stored by Disney for a limited amount of time (30 or 45 days). During that window, you may purchase a Memory Maker product (1 day, or all days) and download your photos taken during that specified period.

The advantage of the 1 day Memory maker is that if you decide you don't like any of the photos, you can simply not purchase anything. If you only like 1 or 2 photos, you can purchase download rights to them individually ($14.95 each I think). If you like more than that, buy the whole day's worth of photos... if you like multiple photos on multiple days, then buy the full memory maker ($169 I believe). If your confident that you will like multiple days worth of photos... BEFORE you get to the parks you can buy the full memory maker at a discount.

You can't buy it in advance. The multi day memory maker starts based on your first photo taken. The single day memory maker is assigned to a specific date. So you cannot pre order it.

Sorry about resurrecting an old thread, but I'm hoping someone has an answer. Do you have to purchase the one day MM on that day or can you wait until you're home a few days later to make the purchase?
