They don't have a clue. We are going in August and they just don't have a clue. We've always talked that we would go every five years and we were just there in Sept. But with the free dining bounceback, it just made sense to go again. Plus, I'll be back to work this fall for the first time in 13 years.

Back to my point, I would just love to completely shock them and think I am going to wait until we are at the resort before I 'tell' them unless they figure it out on their own before that. My biggest issue is what to tell them to get them on the plane. We don't just normally take trips on a whim like that. I have considered telling them of an ailing family member that lives in GA is the reason we need to go and don't know how long we'll be there but I just feel so guilty doing that/saying that - karma you know.

Thanks for any help :)

I think you'd have trouble getting them on a flight to Orlando without spoiling the suprise...

Will your kids (especially the older ones) be okay with you packing all of their stuff or would they be upset they didn't get to choose their own items to bring.

If they don't care, you could make up an errand of some type that gets you near the airport (with the luggage all packed and ready to go). Then you could reminisce about the last time you flew to Disney. When the kids say "I wish we could go back to Disney" or whatever, say "OK.... Let's go... right now". You might want to have the video camera happen to be sitting on the console of your vehicle (maybe put it there a week or so before so the kids forget about it) so you can have it pointed towards them and get their reaction.

Personally I would never say it was because someone was sick. Just tell them it is a surprise :goodvibes

We are surprising our four kids in June. We have planned to tell them a week before (when they get home from the last day of school). This way, they have a week to get excited, but also so the older two can pack everything they will want/need for the trip.

Maybe you could surprise them at the airport? I have a feeling they'd figure it out if you boarded a plane for Orlando, since that will be announced several times.

Good luck keeping it a secret. It has been so hard not to spill the beans. I've got 2 months and 3 days to go!
