I have a trip planned for my 14 yo DS to WDW for Christmas. This has been a stressful year and we could really use the time to be together.
We leave early on the 24th. I'll have to do it on the 23rd so I can give him time to pack. Any ideas how to let him know about the surprise? I don't want to just hand him a ticket after keeping it secret for so long.
We have been many times, and I even surprised him with a trip when he was in 4th grade. He is very smart and I'd like to try to present it to him as a puzzle or something. We will be staying at the Boardwalk Villas, and I was thinking about wrapping up a big box that has a wooden board and a leash in it (think "BOARD" + "WALK"), but I don't want him to think he is getting a puppy or something (probably the only gift on par with a Disney vacation).
I have a few gifts for him for when we get there, but mostly it will be "experience" gifts. For example, we have reservations for the Wishes Dessert Buffet on Christmas Eve and reservations for the Candlelight Processional at Epcot during the trip. You have NO IDEA how difficult it has been to keep this from him!
I just think that after all of the planning, a big reveal would be the icing on the cake. Any suggestions would be great!
