We were going to stay at the GF with two rooms. However looking at how much of a cost that is I deceided to change our reservation to OKW. However I think that maybe I should have done SSR. It's the same price for everything. Please help me what should I do?

Hi. If you don't get many responses. Try asking on the DVC Planning forum. They are really helpful there. Good luck! Lynn

I love both resorts. To me, the biggest difference is "newness" if that makes sense. SSR rooms look more updated and fresh. However, the room size and landscaping at OKW are awesome! So, if you don't care as much about new furniture, you may want to pick OKW.

One more thing to consider is the pools. The Grandstand pool at SSR is terrific. We don't love the main pool because it can become very crowded. We were also not very impressed with the main pool at OKW.

Good luck making your choice!

We stayed at SSR. We weren't crazy about it. It seemed to us like any big Florida condo development. Not much theming when all was said and done. And, to me, it lost something by the fact that you could see lots of other non-resort areas -- DownTown Disney, the off-site hotel area, etc.

We'd probably give OKW a try next time. At least it seems to me to be a bit more secluded. Plus, the really big rooms would be a plus. SSR struck me as built with no other thought in mind than how many units can we fit on this plot of land with which we can turn a buck.

I chose OKW for our next trip because of the size of the villas, and for the whole Key West look. I mean, if I'm going to Florida, I want to feel like I'm in a laid-back Florida setting.

OKW is a beautiful resort. Even though SSR is our home resort, we prefer the theming, room size and overall atmosphere of OKW. If you did decide to do SSR, I still don't think you would be dissappointed. It is also a beautiful property. Overall I think you would enjoy the relaxed atmosphere that each of these DVC properties offer.

We loved both resorts. I think it depends on your priorities.

SSR is newer and closer to DD, a great hub to other resorts.

OKW has larger rooms and a much quieter feel. If you need to decompress after a crazy day in the parks, OKW is a great place to go.

We stayed a few nights at SSR last month and I did not fall in love with it. I have to agree that it seems like one big complex without a lot of theming. The main pool area was beautiful. I had a view of a parking lot and the road. I would like to stay at OKW someday! I think the theme at OKW just suits me more.

I have never stayed at SSR but I have at OKW. For myself OWK is close to the parks, SSR just seems to be too far away for me.

If you would rather spend more time at Downtown Disney then SSR would be the place to be. Of course, OKW has the boat that goes down to DD

We have not stayed at SSR, but we have stayed at OKW and we loved it there. We liked the themeing, the peace and quiet, the ability to park nearly at your door, and the size of the units is the largest on property, there is a significant difference here in size over other DVC properties.
I would return to OKW anytime.
Have a Great Trip.

My vote is for SSR. We stayed and OKW and had a terrible room and the resort is ok. At SSR we had a nice room and they have a better food court (if that is what you call it). I am not sure if that even helps. I hope it does.
