My sofa has really smushed down cushions. Does anyone know where I can purchase foam or batting or whatever it takes to restuff sofa cushions? Has anyone ever done successfully? I am just not a very handy or crafty person so I don't have a clue where to look. Would a craft store have what I need?

I'm excited as I actually know this answer. I did this last year before I had a week of company. My back cushions on the couch are full of batting. I have two big pillows as a back. I went to walmart and picked up two big bags of batting and just pulled it apart and started feeding it into the back couch cushions. Make sure you push into all four corners and at the top and bottom. I didn't put as much in the middle because I like to be able to sink into the pillows and not stand at attention against them.

For my seat cushions I had to use all new stuffing. I found these square padded cushions for inside the seat that I wrapped with white yards of full cotton. Not batting but like thick cotton pieces. I hope that makes sense.
I found the seat cushion stuff at a craft store. I think all together I spent about $25 maybe almost 30 but it sure was less than a new couch.

We had ours done last year. There is a foam company here that you take your cushions into and they cut the foam to fit. Check your local phone book.

I'm not the expert, but you might try JoAnn Fabrics. They sell new foam that can be made into cushions. The thing is, you'd need to cut new cushions based on the size of the old ones. You'd need to take the old covers off and use the old cushion as a pattern. Years ago I took a class from JoAnn's and the instructor had us round off the square edges so the covers could more easily be placed over your new cushion. We cut them with a carving knife, but know that you might dull your knife.

check your local yellow pages for foam manufacturer. We replaced our several years ago and felt like new couch again.

We've purchased replacement cushions from foambymail.com - they have great prices compared to JoAnn's (JoAnn's was very pricey!). However, it sounds like the OP is looking to fluff up her back pillows, and if they're anything like mine, they're not foam like the seat cushions. Like a previous poster, I'd recommend buying new batting and stuffing it in there - it's a cheap way to see if it'll work. Good luck!

Our local upholstery shop will sell custom fit pieces of foam pretty cheap. I think the last one DH bought was $5.

I've just checked out their site and was curious as to how quickly the turn around time was for you to receive the foam? I entered in dimensions and then when I go to checkout it doesn't provide any of that information.

Thanks!
