help me request a SV room at WL...

so that I don't view a roof.

any request SV and get upgraded? will I be really disappointed? is there a chance I could get a free upgrade? going the last two weeks of August.

Always a chance you can be upgraded.

If you get the "roof view" -- especially the one in the 'worst views' thread (there can't be many of those) -- request something else. In late August there is a chance that they won't have a full house and when staying at a 'deluxe' you shouldn't be bashful (or any of the other dwarfs ) about requesting a change.

We went in August two years ago and had a standard view room booked. When we got there they upgraded us to a woods view room. It was great! I don't know if that is the norm though at WL. We have been upgraded twice since then at AKL so I know it does happen. I think it just depends on the capacity at the resort.

As long as you are not super noise sensitive I would suggest 6th floor north side, you can get a pretty good view and can watch the high fireworks at MK

I have three little ones, noise is my life. but it is loud only morning (the kiddies are up by 6am anyway) or at night?

we don't spend too much time in the room, but I don't want the see kids and dh to be disappointed with seeing garbage.

I will try that request, thank you, it is a huge savings of over 300$ to switch. I guess we can always try to switch once there, if we hate it.

We were disappointed until the first night we realized we could see MK fireworks clearly! We were so excited. The view was excellent, even with the door closed to block some of the noise. Remember too, that being in Florida in August will be hot and sticky and sitting outside on the balcony may not be very comfortable.

Most rooms facing that direction can only see fireworks through the trees. I think the front corner is the best for the fireworks, but I'm not sure about that. The sound isn't all that bad, but it's hard to avoid the booms. Be thankful that there likely won't be any midnight fireworks (senior night high-school graduation, etc.).

The view down isn't all that great on that side (off the main lobby), and some rooms can hear the delivery trucks arriving at the loading dock in the morning, but no rooftops! You can also get a little noise from Whispering Canyon Cafe, but we were fine with it once we realized where it was coming from (and that it wouldn't last all evening).
