Help me remember....

I seem to remember seeing some film during some attraction with Bette Midler. The story revolved around a lottery ticket. I think it was at MGM maybe during the late 1980s, early 1990s. What, where, and when was this?????

Also, I don't remember any other song at the Carousel of Progress except the "There's a great, big beautiful tomorrow.....". When was the other song "Now is the time....." used in the attraction?

I know exactly what you are talking about and I believe it was at Universal not MGM

The "better" song was used in the 80's and before I guess. My last trip as a kid with my family was before 1989. When I went back in 2000 the song had changed. I was so sad.

My partner and I went in 2000 it was her first trip and being that I loved COP as a child (rode it for about 3 hours once) - I would sing the song over and over to her - but hte we rode it and it had changed - she thought I was crazy.


Anyone know where we can find the old song - I want to hear it again.

The Bette Midler film was a commercial she filmed for The New York State Lottery and was part of the backstage walking tour. After they showed you the commercial they showed how it was filmed and then you could see the props from the film.

If I recall correctly, the current song is the original song used when this attraction opened at the 1964 world's fair. I don't know at what point they changed it, but I for one am happy that they now play the original song. Then again, if I heard the other one, I don't remember it.

If I recall correctly, the current song is the original song that was used in this attraction starting in 1964 at the World's Fair. I don't know when they changed it, but I for one am happy they now use the original song. But I don't recall ever hearing the other one.
