I am taking six of my high school theatre students in May and we are staying at the Boardwalk. We will arrive early in the evening and won't be going into the parks or anything major that night, just hanging around and exploring the Boardwalk area. I want to do a photo scavenger hunt after dinner. We did this on our last trip a few years ago, and it was so much fun for the kids. We stayed at a different resort that time, so I need new ideas for a hunt at the Boardwalk.

The idea is that I will split them into three teams and give them each a list of 20 or so things they have to find and photograph. Then, they have to race each other to get their photo list completed. The first team to return with all their photos wins a cool prize, like a Disney gift card or something....after I've seen and verified all the photos, of course. They all have either digital cameras or cell phones with cameras, so it's easy to do.

So, I'd love to have some help putting together a fun and challenging list. I need some pretty easy to find and photograph things and some that are more difficult. I usually use some things they have to photograph around the hotel....a specific sign or decoration or item in the gift shop or a certain Hidden Mickey, for example...and then some that require them to be a little braver....like, asking them to find a guest with a football team shirt on and have their picture taken with him or her or having them strike a funny pose in a public place and get someone to take a picture of it.

Any fun ideas? I do want to keep them at the Boardwalk....inside the hotel, around the pools, on the Boardwalk, whatever. I don't want them running over to the other resorts in the area.

Thanks in advance for your creative ideas!

I'm sorry I can't answer your question directly. However, if you have a look at the photo galleries (you can specifically select Boardwalk), you might get at least a few ideas to start with.

Also, if you scroll on down to the Photography Forum, you might see some other ideas. You could try searching on "Boardwalk" to see if there's anything there.

I realize that you're not planning to give your students the photos. I just thought that it might help for you to see what you're directing them to find.

Thanks, that's helpful! I've been there quite a few times, and I could come up with some stuff. But, I'm looking for some smaller, harder to find detail stuff...so the photos might give me some good ideas. I appreciate it!

Take a picture:
with Mystic Ray (hard!)
in front of all three light up "Boardwalk" signs
with a garden suite bird house
the electrolier chandlier (or whatever it's called) http://www.wdwinfo.com/Photos/Boardwalk2/pages/Boardwalk-Resort46.htm
in front of "the attic" sign (also hard!)
flexing their muscles in front of the gym
of lucy the elephant (hint: shes indoors)

PM me with any questions; I can definitely think of more but I'm on the way out the door :)

Just wanted to say COOL IDEA :thumbsup2 I'm going to copy you and do something like this for my daughter and nieces over Spring Break at the Polynesian.
Good luck!

That's exactly the kind of stuff I'm look for. Thanks!

The kids really had a blast with this last time, so I'm excited about doing it again!

Not sure if you are aware, but the candy shop on the boardwalk has all the pictures of former and the current Miss America. You may want them to take a picture of the Miss America from the year they were born.

Okay there has to be a 'fanny pack' picture.

One of a couple or family dressed alike.

Someone eating or drinking something bigger than their head.

Someone dressed like a disney charecter who is not employed by WDW

and

someone dressed for the weather opposite of the actual forcast. It's 90 degree's and they're wearing long pants and a jacket. It's 40 and she's wearing a halter top kind of thing.

Okay,This is toooo cute an idea!!! My sisters and their families are there in April and I am at the Swan & Dolphin at the same time. I am going to share this thread with her. The kids will love it.

A Pic Of Someone On A Speed Boat
A Pic Of A Captain Of A Boat
A Pic Of The Bartender At The Pool
A Pic Of A Bus Headed To Magic Kingdom
A Pic Of A Limo Pulling In To The Hotel
A Man Carrying A Shopping Bag
Someone Wearing A Lanyard

Your pics are great! Lots of wonderful ideas there. :thumbsup2 I especially like the one of the armadillo on the golf course! I have never seen one of those at Disney (or anywhere else for that matter). Next time my DH is golfing there I will make sure he looks for one of those guys

These are GREAT ideas. Thanks so much to all of you! I knew I'd get lots of fun creative ideas here.

You're a fabulous teacher!!! And as former design teachers - we know what fabulous is. LOL

On our last trip we stayed in a room with a balcony over-looking the Boardwalk (just to the left of the Flying Fish). My suggestion for a challenging photo is of guests waving from their balcony at the students. Calls for a littler interaction (not tough for theatre students) and a bit of good luck.

They arent exactly "on" the BW, but on the sidewalk running adjacent to it that goes to DHS there are 3 or 4 survey markers in the concrete. I think there are a couple past the resort also, but I know there are at least a few in front of it. You kinda have to be looking down to see them, but they stick out like a sore thumb once you start looking for them...
