i only want a small contract. they are offering a 100 pointer at AKV, $8 a point incentive, $500 down. has anyone gotten better incentives on this size contract? in other words am i missing a perk? i had heard about gift cards and an equal amount of points for free to use in one year. i only need to give my ssn and away i go. is this the best deal? should i do it? should i not?

We just signed on the exact contract (literally Fed-Ex'd the docs today!:cool1: ). For a small contract, I think it's a good deal. We've been looking at DVC for 3 years and they never offered anything lower than 160 points. We didn't want 160 points (at least we don't right now) - we want to be able to go every 2 years so 100 points is really great for us. We took the tour to get out of the rain of TS Fay, but after seeing the AKV model (LOVED it!) and hearing how we can buy in at only 100 points we decided to finally do it. I think if you are looking for a small contract then it's worth it to jump in now. JMHO of course.

ETA - I did a lot of research about other perks and, as best I can tell, the perks (gift cards, developers points, etc) don't kick in until you buy 160 points. Our "perk" is being able to buy in at 100 points, and the $800 'gc' to go towards the down payment. BTW - do you have a DVC guide? I really like my guide if you need a name (he has been MORE THAN PATIENT with us as we first started talking to him 3 years ago. poor guy)

that is exactly what we just did 2 weeks ago. there are no other incentives for 100 point purchase. they kick in at 160 point purchase. we got 2 other little incentives, but we closed at the doorway to dreams store in chicago.
so you are not missing anything else.

A reminder here to everyone that referrals may only be offered or discussed on This Thread Thank you.

the moderators comment seemed to kill the thread. you can still answer my questions. that comment was because someone offered to act as a referal to get me more incentives. that reply was removed and as a result anyone looking would not know what the moderator was talking about. please help me decide.thanks

Like a few others mentioned, its a pretty good deal for a 100 pt contract. You have to go up to 160 to see better incentives.

If a 100pt contract will work with your annual travel plans/accomodation size needs and you can swing it financially then I say go for it.

I think you would be hard pressed to find a comparable resale contract after you factor in closing costs, the resale wait time, etc.
