I know most of this is Transportation related, but...
There have been MANY car trips this past week. Gabriel, my 4 month old, has been having a kinda hard time. Anyway, Matt informed me last night on or way home from Eville that he REALLY doesn't want to drive(14 hours not including stops). So I have been looking at flights again.:headache: Flying is much better for us, but flights were so high when I was looking before. Driving really limits our time there, b/c of work and the baby.

So I have 2 options here....

1. We can fly NON STOP out of Owensboro (which is only 45 min from us) for $337 for all. Problems here, firstly, it flies to Sanford. That means no ME. Also, the flight there would be on Thur 10/21. Home Thur 10/28. Which means we have 2 nights before WDW. Makes it perfect for IoA on Friday.

Problems here:
-How to get back and forth, least inexpensive. We need to get to a hotel (right now we are considering Days Inn Maingate, ever stay there? Can you tell me about it, can we walk to IoA?), then to IoA, to WDW, then back to Sanford. I got on Mears site and estimated that from WDW to Sanford to be around $105!:scared1: I am pretty clueless here. We have drove and used ME only.

2. We can fly out of Indy. One stop there, non back. $186 pp. We haveto drive 3 hrs to Indy. Then we probably wouldn't get to do IoA.

Ok.. first off, no, you cannot walk from the Day's Inn Maingate to IOA. As far as Sanford airport, yes, that price is about right. Sanford is not right next door to Orlando. It is about 40-45 minutes away. You would want to fly into the Orlando airport to have a shorter distance (and cheaper) to get to the theme park areas..

If it were me we would fly and rent a car. You can usually rent a fullsize car in the Orlando are using priceline for about $10-12/day.

When I look at renting Sanford isnt listed as pick up. I was thinking about renting there and returning to WDW car care (National and Alamo).

If you fly into sanford, rent a car for the entire week. With the trip you have planned, it will be far cheaper than any other option except driving your own car down.

In fact, even though you may not want to do it, if money is an issue for your family, you would be far better off driving to disney instead flying. The 14 hour trip is a bummer, but doable in one day if you leave very early in the a.m.

Does your cheap airfare include parking at the airport and the cost of taking all that luggage, such as strollers and car seats?

I would definitley fly into Sanford and rent a car. It will give you more flexibility as to where you stay, and will give you the freedom to do grocery runs and eat offsite if you want. The cost to rent for a week probably won't be much be more than a one way shuttle. And I believe that if you are staying onsite you can drive to the WDW park lots and you don't have to pay to park. This will give you more flexibility if you want to leave the parks during the day and don't want to have to wait for the bus.

You will not have to pay to check a stroller or car seat on the airplane. You may have to pay to check luggage, depending on the airline.
