HI! this is my first trip to DW:cheer2: :cheer2: and we are planning to go in the first week in dec:santa: 2008!my DDprincess: 3 and my DS:cool1: 9! and of course my husband:rolleyes1 i dont know if this is a busy time of the year. i was planning on staying at pop century, but im scared:scared: because of all the remarks!!! i wanted to stay in the 50's section bc my DD LOVES"LADY''will someone please help me and let me know if pop resort is the way to go:confused: if not-what resort??? also when tipping MK how much?

Well Christmas time is the most busiest time of the year. POP looks neat too.

We really enjoyed the Pop Century when we went. The kids loved the play areas. The bus service was great and the rooms were clean. I would bet that a lot of the complaints are from trips during the busiest seasons - Pop is enormous and it must be difficult for the staff to keep up with all of the people.
You picked a wonderful week to go. It will not be crowded and all of the Christmas decorations are up.
I know that you will have a great time.

is the first week in dec really that busy??? if so we might as well stay for christmas!!!!

we just got back from pop on the 19th. I had booked a preferred room and got the 50's Lady side. Room 1108. The bus service was fantastic, better than our stay at AKL. This resort was great and I would not hesitate to stay there again.

We stayed at the Pop in 2004 right after it opened. It is a nice resort. It is great for getting places quick because there are always buses running to the resort. It is a large resort (Disney's biggest) so there are always tons of people staying there. We really had no problems when we stayed there, except that my husband stepped on a snake :scared1: the first night when we were walking back to our room! The rooms are small and you do not get a lot of perks (no boat or monorail transportation, no nice dining at the resort, no overly cool themeing at the pools) but you are staying on property which, in my opinion adds to your stay. Out of all the value resorts, I would choose Pop over the All-Stars.

Enjoy your trip!

well thank you for the info. i will be staying there!! i cant wait til my trip!!!!! YEAH YEAH!!!!

When we go during the Christmas season, the first or second week, it is still considered a value time. There are always crowds at Disney, but it has never been major when we've been there. Check the boards because I've read that Pop Warner cheerleaders stay in the value resorts sometime the beginning of December for their competitions. We've known they've been there at the same time as our trips, but they never had a major impact at the parks. I think their impact would be at the hotel.

I went to search and typed in Pop Warner 2008 and found this in one of the posts:

Pop Warner dates for 2008:

Sunday December 7 1st round division

Tuesday/Wednesday December 9-10 2nd round division

Monday/Friday December 8-12 National cheer and dance

Friday/Saturday December 12-13 PW Super Bowl Champion

The first week will be nice.
I think that the other poster thought that you meant Christmas week. I am pretty sure that you will be there when they are filming the Christmas parade.
Oh, and here's a good idea of the crowd level - most of the rides will have short lines or, occasionally, no line at all (unless it is a big name ride like Splash Mountain or the rides in fantasyland like Peter Pan's Flight - they always have lines.
