We will be arriving at the World on Fri 8/14. We are staying at the Pop but would like to check out FW. So we thought our arrival day would be the perfect time. We would like to eat dinner at Trails End maybe do the campfire and watch the Fireworks from the MK or the electrical parade. My questions are 1) What is the best way to get there? We will have a car but I heard you cannot drive thru FW. Should we take the bus from PoP or drive to MK and boat from there? Is there parking at FW? 2) Can you walk from Trails end to the campfire then back to the beach for the Fireworks and EP. 3) What time does everything start? Does the campfire start at dusk or a specific time each night? I can find out what time wishes is but is the EP before or after Wishes.? Can some FW veterans help me out. Let me know what time to head over there and give me some pointers on getting this done. TY

I would get there in the afternoon and park in the overflow lot, take the bus up to the Settlement area where TE and the marina are. You can walk to the campfire program from there - about a half mile and if the evening is nice it's a nice walk. Others can help better with times.

Agreed, I would drive and park in the day use/overflow lot out front. Use the internal transportation inside FW then catch the bus back out to the reception outpost at the end of the evening.

1. I would definitely take the Disney bus to Fort Wilderness, then from there take the bus that takes you to the Trails End buffet area. 2. You could walk but Its a little ways away from the campfire, BUT they make a bus available to you to take right to the beach area. 3. The campfire starts at around 7:45, honestly I think Wishes and the Electric Parade start at the same time.
Hoped this helped! Good luck! Have fun on your vacation!!!:thumbsup2

ty for the help. how long does the campfire last? I don't think wishes is until 10 that night. We are going to the MK on Sun so we could miss the fireworks on Fri, but I've never seen the Electric Parade and want to see it once at least.

the EWP plays at WL at 9:35, then head to FW at about 9:45ish, then to the contemp and starts playing immediatly after wishes which is at 10pm.

It's kinda hard to do both the campfire and wishes if you're trying to include dinner in there too. Or else have a very early dinner watch the sing along, have some smores for dessert. And then go back to the settlement for wishes. But you'd miss the movie. Is the movie playing that night one you really want to see or do you mind skipping it?

I would certainly drive. Taking a bus from resort-to-resort is more pain than I'd want to endure... you'd have to take a bus from Pop to either a park or DtD, transfer to the Fort bus (which means another wait), and when you arrive at the Fort transfer to an internal bus! No thanks! Drive yourself, park in the overflow lot (aka Hoop Dee Doo Revue parking) and take the internal bus.

If you don't want to drive, you could bus to MK and take the launch to the Fort. This is a great way to arrive. It kinda sets the tone for the Fort, which is all about a more relaxed pace. The campfire is within a 1/2 mile of the dock, so you wouldn't need the internal buses.

Ty for the times on the EWP. The movie that night is WALL-E which we have seen a few times and will probably not watch. If the EWP goes by at 9:45 would we have time to take the launch back to MK and then Monorail back to TTC for the car or would we get stuck with everybody exiting MK after wishes. The boat back to MK would be a great place to see Wishes from, but if we would get stuck in that mess exiting we will just wait til we go to MK on Sun.

If you ate at TE early you could always catch the wagon ride at 7p-then go over to the campfire. Then up to the marina to catch EWP @ 9:45p then following that is wishes. It's value season I don't see it being that busy after wishes is over. You'll ahve a whole night of FUN!:cool1:

I have a suggestion. Have ya'll ever gone to the Hoop Dee Doo Review? If not, then you should. It is a dinner show so it is more expensive but definitely worth it! Schedule a later show and then you would have time to check out the campfire and singalong before dinner. A perfect night!:goodvibes

TY all for the help. We have done the Hoop de do Review. I even went to River Country when it was open, but I have never done the Campfire or the EWP so that is what I was hoping to try this trip. Maybe just maybe I'll see all of Disney before I die. lol
