Our APs are expiring soon and DH and I are finally getting a day without the kids. I'd love some help figuring out how to schedule our day.

What time should we arrive at bag check?

DCA has early morning entry that day, which we won't be able to use.

Here's our must do list:

RSR a couple times if possible. Single rider lane is fine.

TSMM

Sit on a bench in cars land at sunset when the lights turn on.

Star Tours.

Pirates of the Caribbean.

Anything else is just icing on the cake!

I'd love some advice! And other tips for a one day kid-free trip!

I would watch the app for a few days to get a sense of what times fp return times are happening for the Star Tours ride....you want to get a fp time for it that doesn't conflict with the bench/sunset plan.

What we saw last week:
PotC had fairly short lines/waits until around 11:30 each day
TSMM was around a 40 min wait no matter when we looked
RSR fp grabbed prior to 9= 12:30 return time and grabbed by 10= a 4:40-5:40 return time
RSP single rider line was less than 20 minutes one time we rode and was seriously all the way to the ride entrance one time
DO NOT RIDE STAR TOURS WITHOUT A FP. This is, of course, my opinion, but that ride was a 50 min wait the one time we felt like we could ride it and fp were long gone....it is a very depressing wait without a fp. Purely psychological, I know, but still. The entire wait was spent outside in line and we could see all the fp people returning and walking straight in. We stood as the first people at the rope to enter the building for over 20 minutes. The wait time was accurate, but something about watching hordes of people walk straight in for almost an hour really messed with our heads. I noticed more after that the most rides have winding standby lines so you might see fp people for a short time and you are always somewhat aware of them, but that was the only ride we noticed that you just stand there watching them all walk in. Get a fp. HAHAHA!

I cannot recommend that app enough. I know I am a broken record on that, but knowing the fp return times prior to hiking across the park or crossing to the other park is really a nice way to schedule the day. We were there last week and it was super busy, but we would have had no trouble doing everything on your list and lots more! You will have a great time!

To get a good viewing spot for the street lighting in CL, Google the sunset time for Monday, then be on Route 66 about 15 minutes before that. There are lots of good spots that aren't on benches, so don't worry if bench seats are taken. You'll have enough time to grab a snack at the Cozy Cones, then find your viewing spot.

Any idea how early we should arrive at the bag check spot? Last time we went it was crazy more than an hour before opening, but they didn't open until ten that day.
