We currently have Artists Point booked for dinner and we have never been there before. I just switched resorts to BWI and I am wondering if I should cancel AP and book Flying Fish instead (been there three times)

What would you do?

I see we will be there at the same time (I'm staying on the other side of Crescent Lake).

I chose Flying Fish. Artist's Point is just okay IMO. If it's convenient to get there, it's fine but I don't like it well enough to want to travel there from the Epcot resorts. And Flying Fish is always good. I try something different there each time so I don't feel like I'm repeating the same experience.

AP is our favorite restaurant on property! We think the food and ambiance are second to none! Especially if you've never been there, give it a try for something new.

Its always nice to have your dining location right outside the door of your resort; especially after a long or hard day in the park(s). We have dined at both and found Flying Fish to provide a better over all experience and superior food. Personally, you might consider changing another ADR to do Artist Point to try something new, but I would definately do FF over AP.

I voted for Artist Point. I have been to Flying Fish a half dozen times and really like it. I like Flying Fish so much that we are doing the Chef's Wine Pairing Dinner in October. However, I loved Artist Point the last time we were there in February. The appetizers were so creative and the presentation was amazing, not to mention the taste! PLus, there are items you might not get at a usual restaurant. For example, DH had a to die for venison entree, and while I often stick the the signature cedar plank salmon, the buffalo is amazing as well.

I think you will be pleased by trying Artist Point. Even if you find out FF was better you will not be disappointed by at least trying Artist Point!

I voted to try something different and go to Artists Point. You never know what you're missing until you try it. And one meal that isn't perfect isn't going to ruin your trip.

I have, however, had some bad experiences in the past at AP, and once vowed never to go again. I've heard they've changed chefs, though, and I'm willing to try again.

You've never been to AP? I am shocked!! I have read many of your dining reviews and can't believe you missed this restaurant during your WDW travels. I've loved all your reviews, BTW. :thumbsup2

I found that AP can be a hassle when staying at an EP resort. I have also had the experience of noisy children at AP and have surprisingly never experienced this at FF, even when we had our own school age children dining with us. Granted, we don't see a lot of families at FF but I think their wait staff is generally friendly overall and kid friendly at that. I think the kids get antsy at AP and the wait staff didn't seem as child-friendly. JMO, don't flame me other DISers!

The times we've eaten at AP, it seemed the meal was drawn out forever. Yet, I've never had that feeling at FF.

I am surprised as well!

We have eaten at both and liked both. But I think you should try AP. I believe you usually have a car, so getting there will not be a problem. And the atmosphere at the WL is just lovely. After dinner maybe you could grab some wine, go to the beach, and watch the Electrical Water Parade. Could be a nice relaxing evening.

Girl, you are full of the tough questions tonight!

I've been to each place once. I liked Flying Fish better, but I am eager to try AP again. The app, dessert, and service at AP were great, but my entree was really lacking.

Hmmm. For this trip, I'd say go with Flying Fish for ease of location. You'll be back in less than year, won't you? You can try AP then when it might be more convenient to get to.

Try flying with the Fish.
Much easier to find, and you'll really enjoy it. I know I did.
