I'm going for 5 nights without the dining plan and figured we (my girlfriend and I) would make reservations for dinner for 2 of the nights. I've never eaten at any of the resturants in the parks. If you could recommend 2 resturants, in any of the parks, for me to go to for dinner, which two would you pick and why? I'm also trying not to go completely overboard on price (i.e. no fillet mignon lol).

Thanks all!

That's a wide-open question. Fun!

Since you've never eaten a park restaurant (and I'm assuming we're restricted to INSIDE the parks), and given I don't know your tastes ... one of the places we always take newbies is the 50's Prime Time Cafe. The food is good basic fare, and the servers are an absolute hoot.

My other choice would be a character meal - it is Disney, after all - and since we're in the parks, I'd give the nod to the Crystal Palace.

Ohana which is actually in the Polynesian resort. The food is all you can eat table service and it is delicious. The dessert is unbelievable. I believe its $27 per person.

I would probably do Cindarella's Royal Table becuase it's in the castle which is absolutely beautiful and just being inside the castle is really cool. Plus you get free pictures together with a Cindarella. The dinner is $41 per person.

Expensive I know, but all I can tell you is what I would do. Hope this helps, good luck.

TS - we like Tusker House at AK, Mamma Melrose at DHS, Biergarten at Epcot and unfortuantely have not had good experiences at TS at MK yet

CS - we did like Peco Bill's at MK, AK - Flame Tree BBQ, Eptcot- take your pick - many good ones and at HS - we did like Backlot Express (hated ABC Commissionary)

also had an absolute hoot at Hoop Dee Doo

If I had to pick two and only two - I'd say ESPN on Boardwalk and Tusker House Breakfast -- but we haven't eaten out as many as the other DISers - looking forward to many more years to come and looking forward to the other responses to help us out as well!!

Hi! I would first suggest Tokyo Dining in Epcot. It's a favorite for my family...even my kids absolutely love it. The staff are super friendly, the food is great, and the price is affordable enough. The atmosphere is beautiful as well. Hopefully you can be seated by the window.
I haven't eaten at a lot of restaurants at MK, so my experience is limited-but we did enjoy Crystal Palace. The atmosphere is pleasant and we really enjoyed the energy there. Not a quiet meal, but a lot of fun. Food was good, and the price was decent. :)

Hrmm... in-park... and I'm assuming TS (sit-down meal)

MK: CRT (expensive though, but one of those must do's at least once)

Epcot: LeCellier (can be expensive depending on what you order)

Animal Kingdom: loved Tusker House as a CS and we LOVE Boma and I hear the fare at Tusker House as a TS is similar, so would be worth a shot.

Hollywood Studios: 50's Prime Time is a neat experience, we also like Mama Melrose and Brown Derby

However, we don't usually eat in the parks for dinner, we almost always go to a nearby resort and there are many of those I'd recommend. :goodvibes

Ohana was my first thought. Good food, and plenty of it. Plus you get to check out the Poly, my favorite resort.

Maybe Le Cellier @ Epcot
or Coral Reef @ Epcot (great atmosphere!)

Le Cellier at Epcot if you want table service. If you want counter service I like Pecos Bill's at the MK and Pinocchio Haus at MK. Also, there's the Rainforest Cafe at AK. Big portions for the price. Several posters have mentioned the Prime Time Cafe--personally, I don't like the meals, but the dessert is really good.

Being restricted to two is tough, and staying inside the parks is even tougher.

But - let me mention 'Ohana, too - it's just a monorail ride away from the MK, so you're "barely" leaving the park. It's pretty fun. Not gourmet, mind you, but fun.

If you want a "date" with your girlfriend, check out some of the resort restaurants that are on the monorail, too. How about the Grand Floridian Cafe? We haven't tried the Wave yet - gonna do it in May - but it looks terrific, and is getting a lot of positive buzz.

I agree with all of this! :thumbsup2

I deleted Tusker house b/c I have not eaten there since the change. I am looking forward to trying it as well as Yak & Yeti.

Also in Epcot in Italy the new restaurant which the name is escaping me right now, was EXCELLENT! (& I'm an Itlian from NY...I'm REALLY picky. lol)

For a non-park restaurant, I love California Grill & Naercoossee's. If you get a window seat, you can see wishes & it is awesome. Either one you can also go out on a balcony to view them as well. VERY romantic. =)

Thanks for all of the suggestions! There's soo many choices and we have no idea what to choose. Hopefully this will help narrow it down a bit...

I would suggest Coral Reef at Epcot not only for atmosphere, but the food is good.

Also 50s Prime Time is a good time too.

Have fun selecting!!!!!

Please try Lecell Steakhouse I go there every trip really good food and the other one depends if you like Italian or not but I say Mama Melrose.

I agree with the fun of doing a character meal, especially since the Disney characters are unique to Disney parks. I would also choose Boma or the Biergarten. The Biergarten because the food is good, it is less expensive than other EPCOT restaurants and you get a show along with your food. It is a fun place. Boma because it is so unique. I thought the service and food were good although they do have the african spices to them. I like Crystal Palace, but DH thinks it is too ordinary. Beaches and Cream is not in the parks, but it is a fun place with great ice cream and decent sandwiches. It is also not too expensive.

I agree with everyone else.

Coral Reef at Epcot was great especially if you get a seat next to the huge glass aquarium. So cool!

Ohana @ Poly was great too, great fun!

Crystal Palace at MK was the best for breakfast if you looking for breakfast.

Good luck and have a great time!

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm starting to see some patterns popping up. Keep them coming!

In your case I would choose one restaurant for the Disney/fun factor and one that is more on the fancy side.

Good choices for fun restaurants would be Crystal Palace (characters, buffet) at MK, Garden Grill (family style, characters) at Epcot, or 50s Prime Time at DS.

For the second meal I would probably choose either Hollywood Brown Derby at DS or one of the Epcot restaurants (Tutto Italia/Le Cellier/Coral Reef) according to your taste.

We always eat at San Angel Inn that is in the Mexican Pavillion in Epcot. The atmosphere is very romantic, and the food is good. :cool2:
