I will be in Disney in October to celebrate my birthday and need help picking a place to eat. Here are the places I'm leaning towards:

Kona Cafe
California Grill
Hoop dee doo review

Keep in mind I don't mind using 2 table service credits and that I will be traveling with my 8 year old son.

Any thoughts and dining experiences at any of these will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks everyone!

I agree with Hoop Dee Doo with your 8 year old. If for some reason you couldn't get it, my second choice would be California Grill (at a time where you could watch the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom).

Looks like hoop dee doo is a hit. Thanks guys! My 180 mark to reserve is coming up this weekend... I've read for the dining plan you have to pick category 2 or 3... is this correct? If so, which seats should I aim for ?

I believe for the first 2 shows, you have to choose category 2 or 3 on the dining plan (I would choose 2, as it is all on the main floor and not up in the balcony). Being that you are booking at 180 days, I think your seats should be good in category 2. I think you can do category 1, 2, or 3 on the late show (8:30 pm), but unless that time worked better for you, I would stick with category 2 at the earlier show.
