I have picked what I think we want but have a list of 4 possibles. I need help! First off we don't do the hopper. So we need to eat in the park where in that day or before and after. We are trying to do different ones then we have done before. Hence the reason you might not see some of the popular ones. Only one that is a duplicat is Chef Mickey's because my kids requested it. If it makes a difference I am going during free dining for 8 days.

Here is my list so far

Chef Mickey's, Sci fi (not thrilled about the reviews but needed a HS restaurant that we haven't done), Tusker House, Biergarten, Ohana, Rainforst Cafe, and Cape May.

My possibles are t-rex, Marrakesh, Whispering Canyon, Teppen Edo and CRT. I really wanted to do CRT once in my lifetime but not sure I want to use two tsc's. My dd is not over thrilled with princesses. She can take it or leave it. She did like Askerush but again, not something she would beg to do. She would be more excited about the actual castle.

TIA!!!

Well, you can take T-Rex off the list to make it easier - they do not accept DDP credits there. Neither does Rainforest Cafe.

Whispering Canyon is one that we always enjoyed but haven't done in a while, and since the reason to go is the wild antics and the word has been that they have tamed them down substantially, I'm not sure I'd hurry to book there either.

Marrakesh is nice, haven't been there in a while either but it was always good in the past.

Teppan Edo is good if you like Benihana - we do that sort of restaurant here at home a lot so we rarely go to Teppan Edo in WDW.

Biergarten is good and a lot of fun - I'd consider that one a keeper. Tusker House and Ohana are also favorites of ours.

If you are looking for other alternatives for the DHS day maybe you could consider one of the Boardwalk or Beach Club restaurants - you can take a boat there for dinner after you're finished with DHS for the day, or take the boat away from the park for lunch and then right back again when you're done. That opens up options of Spoodles/Cat Cora's Place (depending on how soon your trip is coming up), Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club, Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club, ESPN on the Boardwalk...

And if you plan to pay oop to eat at Rainforest, there are your 'extra' credits to use for CRT if you don't have anything else planned to use them up?

If you want to do CRT, but don't need the princesses, how about dinner? The fairy godmother & the mice are the only characters briefly in the dining room which makes it a somewhat easier ADR to get. We enjoyed Sci-Fi's atmosphere, onion rings & shakes, the burgers were ok but as pp said Boardwalk restaurants are close by (Beaches & Cream is one I would like to try). Cape May was good, but the buffet lines were really bad during free dining. Biergarten was fun, food ok, but we probably won't be going back anytime soon. If you do book CRT for 2 TS you can always do T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe & pay out of pocket. T-Rex would be my out of pocket choice, the ice room looks so cool!

One of the reviewers that I have gotten great information from and she has never let me down, MickeyNicki, did a great review of SciFi. So as in everything else it comes down to one's own personal taste, expectations, preference. Truthfully, the majority of people on here rave about Whispering Canyon Cafe and it has joined one of our three "not to be returned to." We found the service horrible and the food even worse. Again, personal taste.

I think what you've selected sounds good.

I think you have some good choices there. Sci Fi is one of my faves, but mainly for the atmosphere. If you go in knowing the food is average, then you won't have crazy expectations.

I also agree with one of the other posters - pay out of pocket for Rainforest (if its a must do), and splurge two credits for dinner at CRT. You have to do it once! And the great thing about dinner is you get to eat in the castle without all the princesses everywhere. That is what DH and I do, since we don't have kids. The dinner food there is actually pretty good.

If you definitely want to do SciFi, you can pay OOP for it. If you stick to burgers--which is what I'd recommend--it's pretty inexpensive.
