We are going to be in the World from 6/26-7/6. We have decided to do a split stay. 6/26-6/30 we will be at CBR. Then starting 7/1 we are going to switch to a deluxe. So here is my question, do we do Boardwalk, Beach or Yacht Club. We have never stayed at any of the deluxe Epcot resorts. Boardwalk is the cheaper option but they are within $150 difference. Our family consists of myself, husband and children ages 16,13,9. Which would you pick and why? Thanks for the help!

All 3 are great resorts but for us it is Boardwalk for sure. I would pick Boardwalk if it was $150 more. We love the atmosphere and prefer the theme to the others. Plus it has THE best pool slide on property.

BC or YC. Your kids will love the pool.

If you think your kids would get a lot of use out of the pool - I'd take a good look at the BW pool vs. the BC/YC pool and see which would be more appealing.'

I've not stayed at the BW but we did the BC many years ago and I liked the closeness for walking to Epcot. I'm not as much a fan of the BW area of shops and restaurants but that's also a consideration - would you enjoy being closer to that? I'm guessing resort-wise - all are lovely so there's very little downside to whatever you pick.

Which would you pick and why?
Would you do anything with that $$ savings? book a dessert party or after hours event? I might use the money to do something different or special for the family (although for a family of 5 a dessert party might run close to $400 and an after hours event over $500 - so not saving in the long run).

If no real plan for the savings then i would lean towards BC. I have never stayed there but I always hear how great the pool area is. But if you don't have a ton of resort time planned then i might just save the money and stay at the BW, also a very nice resort and just use the $$ for a nice dinner.

We personally didn't care for BW at all. Decor was reminiscent of decor/furniture found in our parents' homes. We toured BC and loved the look and feel and are staying there in December and YC in November to decide for future stays where we'll stay. :)

I love all of those resorts for different reasons and we switch between them frequently depending on our mood. BWI - we love the turn-of-the-century Boardwalk atmosphere. My DS actually loves the clown slide and I love the fact that I can sit on the pool deck and see him at all times (in the pool, going up to the slide and coming down). My DS11 LOVES the Boardwalk at night - loves the games and the entertainment. BC - nice theme, fun pool for older children (which would suit your family), quick walk to EP, boat to DHS. YC - much quieter than BC, still has access to the great pool.

I think for you, I would vote BWI just to save the $150 and give an EP resort a try.

All 3 are great options. BW is best located for walks to Epcot and DHS. The pool is not bad. It is significantly smaller but does allow for perfect viewing of your kids the whole time. I grew up staying at the BC all the time but now am a DVC member at BW. YC is the quietest. BW does not share any buses with the other resorts. Honestly, you can’t go wrong. I would probably say BC for your family as I’m sure your kids would love the pool.

I've only heard one person ever say that the boardwalk pool is better than the beach club pool, and that was on this thread. I've never stayed there, but did stay at the Beach Club and agree that the pool there is amazing. Plus, the 5 minute walk to and from Epcot was great (not that Boardwalk is much further).
I highly doubt you will regret your decision no matter where you pick.
