hey

Me and my partner both mid 20s will be In Disney from 11-15 Feb next year after a cruise

Am really stuck what hotel to pick. Our price range is any mod hotel

Which one do I choose.

I love POR. It is so beautiful and it has a boat to DTDSprings which is really convenient.

My fav mod is Coronado Springs. Love the grounds and the food options!

Coronodo is a fun resort with good themeing nice dining and caters to more conventioners. It also is the only moderate with a fitness center if it matters.

Go with the Swan/Dolphin so you can walk to EPCOT and Boardwalk area. Also much more luxurious than the Mods, IMO.

Agree with this. Even better, upgrade to a Business Class room. After getting off a cruise, going back to a regular hotel environment can be a jolt. With BC you get a premium location plus all the extras in the BC lounge

We loved loved loved Coronado in February. The lake with the beach is beautiful. The convention center didn't bother us and really it just made it to where you saw more adults than kids. We loved having the walk up pool bar right by the lobby (margaritas while waiting for the bus :) It was also one of only a few resorts I could find that had a king size bed with the promotion that we booked. We've previously stayed at pofq and I didn't like it nearly half as much as Coronado.

Hmmm not many votes for CBR then

Aghhh everyone loves different ones. What one do I pick lol

Baring in mind it's valatines day when am there to. Any more romantic than the other lol

I agree but at least it's not going from the ship to the plane lol

POR - take the evening carriage ride around the resort. Take in Yeehaw Bob or take a relaxing boat ride to Disney springs & have dinner there.

Another vote for POR for reasons all ready stated above :yay:
DW and I will be returning to POR this year. The first time we have done a repeat of a WDW resort. We want to try out Alligator Bayou, on a carriage ride the driver took us through there and we liked how it looked.

I would do a cabin in fort wilderness! So cool and very different than the hotels. You have your own space and privacy plus the fort wilderness area has a bunch of fun activities

That one is out of our price range

I was keen on CBR. But think we are going to go for POR now

While POR is beautiful, because you are going during a busy time (its school vacation week here in Mass., and I think the entire country has Presidents Day off), I highly recommend Coronado like some PPs. Its very calm - for a Disney resort - and beautiful, and caters (unofficially, just the 'feel' to me personally) to more of an adult crowd b/c of the conventions. Of course there are kids there. The onsite TS restaurant is great, I think, and well themed (which is the reason I stay onsite - the theming (I can stay at a Best Western anywhere)).

An interesting thing about Coronado is that they have several bookable room categories that are in between going from regular room to concierge/club level. Check them out. Oh - and because you arent' shlepping kids, strollers, whining, you can save money by booking standard - i.e., while its a big resort, you can stay in the quiet outer buildings and enjoy a nice walk free of tired kids.

I have not stayed at either POR or POFQ so I can't speak for those (although I've heard a lot of good things and would probably choose POFQ if I ever stay at a moderate again). Coronado Springs is nice. We recently stayed at CBR and just did not like it. The grounds are beautiful, but the buildings are layed out weird and it was hard for me to figure out which way to go and I have a good sense of direction! We ended up driving everywhere because the bus stops always looked so chaotic. Not sure if this is common with all Mods, but when we went to the food court for morning coffee, it was so crowded there were crazy long lines to get food. I don't recall it being that crowded when we stayed at CSR (though that was about 7 years ago).

CBR would be our choice. CBR is our favorite Moderate and 2nd favorite in all of WDW. We were big fans of POR until having to switch to CBR for free dining years ago and haven't been able to stay anywhere else since. At CBR every Village has its own bus stop and leisure pool so you're never far from either.

We usually go during Free Dining when the resort is at capacity and it never feels that way. We always feel like we're the only people staying in our building.

We love to grab a drink, grab a couple hammocks on the beach and watch the higher fireworks from Illuminations. Walking in the sand barefoot is like getting a foot massage which is great after a long day in the parks.

We like CBRs food court and main feature pool better. We like the layout and options of the food court.

You can't go wrong with either but we feel CBR is a notch above.

You ignore the people suggesting other places and pick Coronado. Isn't it obvious? Coronado is fantastic.

POR, POFQ, and CBR are also great, but none of the mods top Coronado, IMO.
