We will be heading to WDW in March this year and I am trying to figure out what gear to rent to take along. I currently own a Sony a7RV and a Sony 24-70 2.8 zoom lens as well as a Leica Q2 that has a built in 28mm 1.7 lens. I have done the past two trips with this setup and honestly it has worked just fine.
A bit about my photography. I have a 2 year old grand daughter, so obviously most of the pictures are of her, honestly most of the trip is about her. I also like to take pictures of the park itself. It will be The Flower and Garden festival so that will be some of my pictures on one or two days. We don't ride a lot of dark rides, because my grand daughter is not into them right now. I like to travel fairly light and just take a sling bag with me, and not be loaded down with all my lenses all day.
I am thinking about renting a Sony 35mm 1.4 lens and a Sony 85mm 1.8 lens and just taking this two lenses with me to the parks during the day. That will force me to focus on these focal lengths and not be lazy with the zoom. My thought is 35mm should be wide enough to take pictures at the character meals, and environmental shots. The 85mm will be something different and give me a longer reach for things like the safari, or just a different perspective.
What are your thoughts? Any other lens that you would recommend instead? Anything I am not thinking about. Thank you in advance.
