Help me pick March dates - I want to see Fireworks!

So we decided on Disneyland for spring break. When we did spring break in 2018, fireworks happened every night. I'm a bit nervous looking at the current calendar and seeing so many nights without fireworks in October, which is a busy time. So I'm not sure which dates would give us the best option to catch some fireworks.

Sun March 13 - Thurs March 17 midday
Mon March 14 - Fri March 18 midday
Tues March 15 - Sat March 19 midday

Any thoughts are appreciated. I understand fireworks are cancelled a lot At Disneyland. I can't 'imagine a trip there without getting to see them even once!

We don't know the fireworks schedule at all for next year. Going off the current schedule, you'd have the greatest chance of seeing fireworks on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a chance of no fireworks for Monday through Thursday. So unless you want to wait for the entertainment schedule to come out which puts you at risk of having no reservation availability, you should probably plan for March 15 to 19 because that gives you a Friday and a Saturday which have the highest chance of fireworks.

That's the worry! I updated my post. We'd fly out the last day, so no evening hours in the park on that last day. I thought at one point Disneyland was doing fireworks Fri, Sat, Sun, and Mon. So maybe flying in Sunday would be best? I really hate the uncertainty of Disneyland Planning. This is where WDW usually has an edge as their calendar is always more flushed out in advance.

I mean there really is no true way of knowing. I would think that Spring break it would be every night. I would personally chose Tue-Sat so that the FW are one of the last things you see **if** they are only Fr/sat/sun. But as you said, they can be cancelled too so...

Also the entertainment schedule can be soooooooo annoying. I am 3 weeks out from my trip and they still haven't added any info to it. I know it's from the start of the holiday season but it's 3 weeks away!!!

Unless it's the Christmas holiday weeks or the summer months, you probably won't catch fireworks outside of Fri-Sun nights. Used to, they'd have Christmas fireworks after Veteran's Day each night. But after C19, who knows??? But for sure in March, count on only the weekends getting fireworks. It's not like WDW where you get it nightly, unfortunately. They did have a nightly screen projection on the castle and Main Street last week for Halloween. But I don't know if that'll carry over in the Spring.

My understand is that they cannot run fireworks on school nights in Anaheim, so it is unlikely the full fireworks will run Sun-Thu nights. Fri/Sat might be your only chance, unless you are there the same week as Anaheim spring break, but that has its own issues to deal with!

Your dates are early for Disneyland’s spring break dates, so I would not count on fireworks during the week. Based on the blackout calendar for my Imagine key, they are planning the week of April 10th for spring break.

So, did the rules change for Disneyland Fireworks? In 2018 they had them every night our week in March. And looking back at old daily calendars on Touring Plans .com, there was Mickey's Mix Magic every night in early March 2020 and every day in March 2019. So, was there some law change recently in Anaheim? Halloween fireworks are happening every night this week and next. I'm not sure I understand the statement that they cant' happen on school nights.

And yes, it's crazy that the entertainment schedule for November isn't even out yet!

:confused3 All I've got is second hand information from our last trip in March 2019. I do know Mickey's Mix Magic ran with or without fireworks, so its schedule doesn't necessarily mean fireworks, and our school night days it was scheduled specifically without fireworks (we enjoyed it anyway).

Can a local chime in?

Mickey's Mix Magic ran with or without fireworks

OK thanks. This is good to know so I can set my expectations (and lower them). I'll be so sad to not see fireworks at Disneyland, but at least I'll be prepared. I have been in a Disney park every year from 2004 - 2019, only skipping one year in there! So these past 2 years without a Disney trip have been bleak. Just being back in the park will be a happy occasion.

They're actually two different shows in the schedule/app. If you look at the entertainment schedule, you'll see "Mickey's Mix Magic with Fireworks" on some nights and "Mickey's Mix Magic with Projections" on other nights. The last couple weeks of August this year had Mickey's Mix Magic with Fireworks every night while July and the beginning of August had Mickey's Mix Magic with Projections running from Monday to Thursday.

If they anticipate bad weather or technical difficulties, they may change Mickey's Mix Magic with Fireworks into Mickey's Mix Magic with Projections. Sometimes the app will update to show this change but not always.

The Anaheim noise agreement regarding fireworks allows for nightly fireworks memorial day through labor day and then 2 weeks at Christmas time and 2 weeks surrounding Easter.
