Hi Guys. I would like to do either the Abaco Back Country fishing excursion or the CC Bottom Fishing. The price is very similar, so can anyone comment on the differences. It would just be me as my partner is not a fishing fan. I am a novice fisherwoman and also very sensitive to sun and heat. Is there an opportunity to get into the water on either excursion and cool off? We will be going in Oct, so theoretically, both excursions should be running.

Any advice on either excursion would be appreciated. I did do a search but couldn't find a lot of information on either one.

TIA

I did the bottom fishing in late December. No chance to get off of the boat. There were eight passengers/fishers a captain and a mate. We were always in sight of the ship. I think most of us caught a small snapper or two. A nurse shark was brought up to the boat and released. I don't remember if the Back Country was available then but plan to do it on our next trip. It sounds like more of fishing variety. The Captain mentioned Disney is looking into a deep sea excursion. Deep water is not that far away from CC.

thank you for your response. I was hoping I would get a little more feedback as I did a search and didn't find much info either. have to book tomorrow. guess i will just take a chance. i can always cancel.

About 5 years ago, my parents took my son (14) and his friend on CC Bottom Fishing excusion. It was hot, very hot and they went far enough out that they could not see the ship. The boys were getting sea sick and the small boat was surrounded by small sharks (the mate was using chum). Plus it was extremely hot. My mother offered the captain $50 to take them back to the CC and back they came. They said never again.
