I have been staying at WL on conceirge level for the last 3 years. I am kinda bored with it . We are going this Oct again and Iam not excited about it at all ( this is trip number 18 for me but I always feel the magic!) I think the reason I am not "feeling it" is because I am bored.

So I was thinking of changing up hotels a bit . I have stayed at CSR ( never again ) I loved the Dixie Landings stayed there about 10 times . I would stay there again but I want to try something new . So help me pick something for at least 3 nights . We will still be doing the WL con. for the rest of the days .

I thought about the Swan or Dolphin . So any thoughts ?

How about AKL? I think it's probably the best resort on property. A lot of comparisons are made between AKL and WL.
Edited to add: Although we are also big fans of Swolphin. We LOVE the location.

I would try the AKL. It's like the WL, but has it's own new spin to it. Also has conceirge.

If you are a die hard Disney fan, I wouldn't stay at the S&D because I heard you don't get any Disney shampoo or anything that has to do with hotel products. But I'm not really sure about the gift shop.

What about BWI or Beach Club? I've stayed at both and love being so close to MGM and Epcot. You can actually walk to the parks from these resorts. BC has the great pool which you could spend an entire day enjoying. The BWI has a ton of excitement from all the shops and restaurants there. We are returning to the WL in Sept. and I can't wait. Too many trips in a row spent on the Epcot side of things. Good luck deciding! :flower:

The Swan and Dolphin are both excellent hotels, though they do lack in some of the "magic" you feel at Disney resorts. Also, the AKL is kind of a re-tread of the WL. It has no boating, no beach, no tennis, no second pool, no access to other resorts. If you're bored with the WL, you could get really bored there. Personally, I'd go with the YC or BC. These hotels are unique and definately a change of pace from the WL. Stormalong Bay is the best pool in all of WDW, and both pools have a second quiet pool that you can use to get away from the crowds. Also, since you're staying at the WL for a few days anyway, you can take the time at BC & YC to see Epcot and MGM, and save MK for your days at WL. There is also the proximity to the Boardwalk and a plethora of restaurants within a short walk from the resort.

What was it about CSR that you didn't like? We have stayed at POR and loved it, but never CSR. We were talking about giving it a try sometime. We really disliked CBR. princess: pirate: :earboy2:

I would suggest AKL or YC/BC we have loved both... AKL because it is just so unusual. The smells, the food, and the decor are all top notch.
Beach Club was terrific due to the proximity to Epcot. We were there for the F&W Festival, and a dinner. so walking back to the resort was heavenly. Loved our King room at BC with a view of the Boardwalk.

My 2 favorites are the AKL and GF. The GF because of it's location and pampering, AKL because of the peaceful tranquility of your balcony if you have a savannah view room. AKL is very remote from most activities (except AK), but the bus system works really well.

I would try the Yacht/Beach Clubs. As others have said their location, within walking distance to Epcot and MGM is great. Great pool, nice theming and if you are going in October, there is the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. Great Fun!

We stayed at Swan and Dolphin for 7 nights in March and LOVED it!!  I disagree that it takes away from the Disney magic. The pool is the second largest on Disney Property, the lobby is beautiful, the rooms and views are amazing, the heavenly beds are OUT OF THIS WORLD and the location is incredible! We walked to MGM and Epcot almost every day! My favorite resort, though, is the BC. I stayed there for 4 family trips before I started going with DBf and it will *always* be my favorite.. ;) Stormalong Bay (the BC/YC pool) is a main reason in and of itself!

But that general Epcot location is my favorite place to stay (although I've never tried BW.. hmmm.... lol). The only reason I wouldn't stay at AKL is because of the extra time it takes to get everywhere (it is an AMAZING resort though, from what we have seen while visiting :flower: ). Epcot resorts are in the middle of everything! Good Luck! :wizard:

Try the Swan/Dolphin. The bit about the S/D lacking Disney magic is a bunch of hooey, in my opinion. We had one room with a view of Tower of Terror and the Boardwalk, another room had a view of the Epcot ball. It doesn't get much more Disney than that unless you actually could book a room IN a Disney park. I love the location of the S/D and being able to walk to Epcot in 10 minutes and to MGM in 15 minutes. It's also quite the deluxe resort with Heavenly Beds that put the Disney deluxes to shame. The grotto pool is fun and there are some great restaurant choices.

The Dolphin does have a more whimsical lobby than the Swan, but the Swan is more intimate and a little easier to get from one spot to another.

I would try the swan or dolphin. I stay at the dolphin all the time and I love it! I do think that it has a disney feel, I saw illuminations from my room!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I would also suggest AKL and if you really want to split your stay, try one of the Epcot resorts. Make the whole trip new.

Try one on the monorail! (Poly, Contemp, or GF) These all have a unique feel to them, and frankly, even though the WL is my favorite, I don't think you can beat the atmosphere at any of the monorail resorts. Plus, it's nice to know you can hop out of your room and be on the monorail in 2 minutes to basically any part of the World. :moped:

Is the Swan/Dolphin a Disney resort? Is it owned by Disney? If not do you still get the same Disney perks? :flower:

You want something different???

hands down to CR concierge

a view you could die for
and two WL rooms could fit in one of the CR rooms

you could hold a party on your balcony

imagine every nite pulling back your curtains and seeing the castle change colors every minute or so..
or watching wishes fireworks each nite
or my personal favorite
watching the boats coming into MK, seeing the monorail come into building, or just watching all the goings on on the 7 seas lagoon...

trust me...

this is the ultimate
we were hesitant, did it this year and so totally happy :love1: :grouphug:

Oh My I dont know what to say . So many good ideas , can you believe that I have never been to even seen the Boardwalk . So now does anyone think i will be able to use that sand bottom pool while I am there . Who has stayed concierge at any of these hotels. hmmmm so many choices
