I know alot of you have been to disney in June so I am hoping that you could fill me with information. We have been to disney twice both times in Oct. 2003, and 2004. The 2003 week was the same week as the press events with misson space and Mickeys philharmagic, some said that this was really crowded however I thought it was manageable, 2004 was different story we went the 15-23 I thought it was much more crowded than the year before, the temp. was between 85-90 everyday, one day it rained early morning, after that it was miserable the rest of the day because of humidity.
hopefully some of you can give me some info --

* which week to go the week of memorial day, now is that weekend after memorial day gayday?, how does that effect crowds. Or should we go the first full week of June.

*how are temps during this time and humidity?

*I have heard of parks closing because they are full how often does this happen this time year?

*last year we stayed at the Vistana Resort on 535 it was just a short drive to disney, how is traffic on these roads during this time, is it bumper to bumper and hard to get back and forth to the parks?

Any information that you could give would be appreciated.thanks :flower1:

I was just in WDW in June 2004.. definitely don't go the last week! We were there from 6/26-7/5. The weather was hot, but nothing we haven't experienced before. It did rain a few times which lasted more than the usual 10 minutes. But Being there around July 4th was not fun... the lines were so long, and the streets so crowded! I hurt my foot half way in the trip and my DH pushed me in a wheelchair, it took so long to get out on 7/4. ANyway, I recommend early-mid June, stay clear of holidays!

Happy planning, we'll be there in March!

We always go in June. We go the 2nd week (after gay days) We have a great time! We can handle the heat and humidity (gets pretty hot here in TX) If you have a good plan the crowds in early June are not that bad. We do early entry (don't know how the new schedule will effect attendance this year), take a break in the afternoon to swim (nap when the kids were younger) and go back and stay til close. We will try the extra hours at night this year, looking forward to AK late hours, Ak is really hot in the summer. I have went once in late June into July and I agree never again. Most trips it does rain most days, but on the most part short showers that make it really humid afterwards. In 2003 it only rained 1 day, but it was BIG rain most of the day.

We almost always have to go in June due to DH teaching. The second week after GayDays is best. Crowds are not quite as bad as late June and July. Traffic is fine. We always drive too. Sometimes have stayed as far as International Drive. Not a problem with traffic morning or afternoon. I have never heard of parks closing during this time due to capacity. It will be hot and humid. Take an afternoon break and swim and relax. The park hours are late, so enjoy the evenings.

We were down the Memorial Day week in 2004. The crowds were not that bad, but the weather was extrememly hot, upper 90's everyday and only rained once the whole week. Have been in early June before and it rained everyday and evening, I'd rather deal with heat than constant rain. Schools in the South are out by Memorial Day, so you will have crowds beginning Memorial Day weekend, but not as bad as late June and July. We'll probably be back this year the week of Memorial Day, that's our first week out of school and we are normally ready for a Disney week, hot or not! Just plan to spend more down time at the pool!

I would suggest the 1st week in June. Get much later than that, all of the schools up north and in the midwest start letting out of school and the family vacations commence!

Gay Days May 31st Tues. through June 5th Sunday. Saturday the 4th is Gay Day At Magic Kingdom. I would go the next week starting on the 6th. Crowds are maneagable the temps are hot. Afternoon rains likely, sometimes they last an hour. I like this time of year.

The only day that you will even notice is that Saturday and only at the MK. If you have problems with it, just avoid the MK that Saturday and PI for the week (both will be HUGELY crowded anyway) and you won't have any problems at all.

Having done both June and October, I can give you some ideas. I would go the first week. Gaydays aren't really an issue, just advoid the park of the day, particularly the Saturday at MK. However the temps will make October look pleasant. High 80's to mid 90's with very high humidity. Thunderstorms every afternoon(for 30-60 minutes) and it won't help the humidity level. I've never seen the parks close in early June, with maybe the exception of MK that first Saturday. Maybe. Not sure of the traffic level on 535. The first week or 2 in June the hours may not be up to long hours, it was a couple of years ago(pre 9/11) and shorter the past few years. Disney adjusts depending on crowd level. The first week in June is probably best, each week the crowds increases. But is was less crowded in October then June.
I don't know. June is noticeably hotter and more humid then October and more crowded. You may gain longer-much longer-hours from it, but the weather will not be an improvement at all. Your can check the averages on www.weather.com just put in Orlando, and you can check the averages for the month and day. Will give you an idea of what you're getting in to. If you have a choice, I'd suggest early December. June is fun, but be prepared for some seriously hot and humid weather.
